before I start I wish to send prayers to the family that disembarked and I hope everyone is recovering.
DAY 2
My DS woke me about 6 am and said he saw land. This was our day at sea, Christmas Day. I played it off assuming it was one of the Islands. Then about an hour later my DS said we were close to land. When I went out onto the veranda the ship was indeed in a channel. After clearing my eyes I realized we were BACK at Port Canaveral. Well after a couple bad rumors I called the service desk and was advised a passenger had taken ill and we returned to port due to the medical emergency. The captain is as skilled as they come. After making basically a U-turn in the harbour we pushed up to the pier, the rescue squad arrived ,took the sick passenger and his family and we were headed back out to sea. In my opinion DCL did an excellent job and there didn't seem to be a bit of panic onboard.
Breakfast time Beack Blanket Buffet. There was a very nice spread but seating was a premium inside. Outside was a little chilly. I finally got my chocolate Mickey waffle. After eating to kids insisted on going to the kids clubs. They were in for the entire day. We did have to drag them out for dinner. DW and I spent the day on deck 10(my favorite) snoozing in the sun. I even caught myself snoring.
Lunch at Parrot Cay a seafood buffet. Again a very nice spread and plenty of shrimp. They even had a sushi bar. The remainder of the day was spent walking and exploring.
Oh forgot that when we woke up Santa did manage to drop off a couple small presents for the kids and in the Atrium each child onboard got a stuffed animal from DCL.
The day was basically slow and uneventful and boy did it feel good. The weather was warm and sunny.
We did take time out to watche all the kids sing carols on the Atrium stairs. I think the counselers did an excellent lob organizing the kids and it was a Christmas Day I will always remember and if I do forget I filmed it. Dinner was at Parrot Cay and the whole family was there. Jorge kept the coctails coming and Mark was aces. I had the lobster tail X 2. I couldn't help myself. DW had an awesome Prime Rib and the Kids ate well. DS even ordered two appetizers. We ate like two kings. Mark even gave us a Menu to take home.
After dinner and rolling down the hall we saw the Golden Mickeys show. Very nice. The kids enjoyed it as much as we did. When the show was over the kids wanted back into the clubs. So DW and I checked out the clubs. There has been mixed reviews about the dueling pianos but we thought they were very funny. We sort of bounced around after that and right into the hot tub in the adult area. The port side tub was luke warm at bestr but the starboard(right) tub was nice and warm. And what better way to cap off the night but with a good cigar and a strong Margarita on deck 10. We picked up the kids around 12:30 am(mom and dad were tired) and headed back to our cabin. The kids were sort of mad because they had another 1/2 hour left till the clubs closed. Go figure. When we got to the room we were greated by towel animal #2 an angel. Oh yeah more chocolates. Martel was aces. Once a head hit a pillow we were done. The day started out a little scary but ended excellent. We slept well in anticipation of day three - Nassau.
more to come.
