Christmas 06 DP newbie- PLease help plan

Hi Everyone...this will be our first opportunity to try out the DP!!!! And I am excited. We are going 12/23-12/29. 2A and 2C.
So please I need help form other DIS verterans that have gone at Christmas or have used the DP.

Some of my must DO's are:
-Candlelight Processional(I can't decide if I should use DP or pay OC)
-a nice Christmas Eve Dinner(Epcot or MK)
-a nice Christmas Day meal(Epcot MK or Resort)
-Chef Mickey


We would probably be good using 3 CS(perhaps even 2) for lunches, so I am hoping to spread some over to breakfasts or dinners. Also DH is a big steak and higher end foods guy...the kids and I are flexible(but one sone loves lobster). Final question...can you split TS Credits...the kids and I also might split those too...if allowed...if not, that's fine.

You can use your credits anyway you want. You can also share meals (except buffets or family style obviously) and use less credits that way.

I can't really help you with where to eat, looks like you're familiar with where you want to go, but I can suggest if you want Le Cellier for the CP dinner package, reserve it when tickets go on sale. It booked solid for almost the whole month of December last year.

I was wondering if there were any restaurants that had a really Good Christmas meal, since I know most have a special menu. There has to be some people that did some great holiday meals 2 months ago.

I have never been at CHristmas...and I don't know if we would ne better off eating in the parks(because it is so crowded it might take too long to get back) or eating at resorts for the atmosphere etc. I have not eaten at most of the resorts.

We loved spending Christmas at WDW this past year so much that we will be returning next year!! On Christmas Eve, our original plan was to dine at LTT. When we made this ressie back in November, turkey and dressing sounded great. However, we are more use to a more formal Christmas Eve dinner. As the holiday approached, we began to second-guess our original plan. Everything was totally booked, but we were luck to catch a last minute cancellation at Kona, one of our favorite restaurants for the food. While this was not near the top of our list of Christmas Eve preferences, we enjoyed our meal very, very much. Have Santa to ourselves in the lobby beforehand added to the magic of our trip for the kids. When our nearly 3 yo became antsy during the meal, I took her out to watch the firewords from the beach. It was quite chilly, so there weren't more than a dozen people spread out along the beach. Wonderful! Next year, I'd like to try an early seating at California Grill. We don't usually take the kids there, but I think they could handle an early meal.

For Christmas brunch, we went to CM. Upon arrival, we were surprised to find that they were taking walk-ups!!! Afterwards, I wished that we had walked away. The food and character interaction was awful! Next year, I'm booking CP for brunch. (BTW, the MK was empty until around 10:45 -- when we exited the park for our ADR.)

Our Christmas meal was at MK. What fun! We definitely will do this again next year. The special menu was excellent...well, all but the salmon; but I'm not a salmon eater anyway. The servers were a blast! Most of the guests were Orlando natives, which says a lot for this meal.

I highly recommend Le Cellier for your Candlelight Processional package on Christmas Eve. This is what we did, and it was perfect.

We ate Liberty Tree Tavern for Christmas Day Dinner. We didn't like it (cold food, poor service), but we were a very late meal, and so many have liked it, that I wonder if it would have been better earlier (so late that the fireworks were going off as we finished).

This sounds like a beautiful idea...Christmas eve and CP...ok so I guess I should go with the reserved tickets/Le Cellier. In March we are eating there for our first time. I was thinking about Cape May for our Main Meal...or something in GF. I love the idea about Kona or CG. I was also thinking Beirgarten might be fun around Christmas.

I am trying to catch a lot of food reviews of those on the dining plan. Thanks ~please keep the help coming...do you thing TGM might have so good advice on the Christmas dining/DP/and Holiday...I was thinking about getting it for this trip...since I highly doubt we will be going back at Christmas for a while.
