Hi Sis and thanks, am sure Darla and I will have a wonderful time at the Women of Faith conference together!

My mom is feeling a lot better today! Both my mom and dad are going to some house tour thing today, so she must be feeling good to go out and do that today!

And I worked with Darla last night and she was still not feeling so good. Today is her day off, so I told her she should just take it easy today and rest. Thanks for asking!

Good afternoon all. I'm not sure how many of youare familiar with Bishop T.D. Jakes, but in case you are, or even if your not, there is a great moving coming out Oct. 1 called Woman Thou Art Loosed. It deals with domestic violence and child abuse issues. It only starting off on 400 screens, but is already gaining national attention. I just thought that as a Christian movie, that you all might be interested in hearing about it.

I have a prayer request for you guys. I saw an add in the paper for a job that I thought looked perfect for me and I'm going to call about it tomorrow and get all the details. It's for an afterschool program and it's only part time, 2-6pm, M-F. The hours are good since I don't think my back is ready for full time work yet and I'd still have weekends free which I really want. So please pray with me that if this is something that the Lord would want for me that the doors will open and that it will work out. Thanks!

Sarah, I am going to a WOF conference in Philly this Friday and Saturday! They are wonderful experiences that I would recommend for everyone! I'll let you know how it goes after Saturday...I'm sure it will be great!

We visited my mom's church today. We have made a decision to make a church change and have been seeking other places. My mom's church is 40 minutes away which is kinda far for a family to be involved on more than just SUndays...but we love it there. We have struggled with this decision in the past. There are many good churches in our community but we feel such a connection at this congregation...I have done many things with the women's ministries there such as Bible studies and retreats and the are a church which firmly believes the scripture and the scriptural basics of "sending" their people out to be Christ to the world...both in local and global missions and in daily life of work and home. I just want to cry at how this church has refreshed us in a time of real disillusionment with "church"...but the distance bothers me. I want my kids to be active in their church and I want to be a part of a church that impacts its community. We also live right across the street from a wonderful church, but we're not sure as we have only gone there a few times. I am at peace about where we will end up and in GOd's timing so I have no fear...please just pray for direction for our family and for us to be strengthened and renewed and to be strong in the full armor of God during this vulnerable time of searching. ~Thank you~

i'm praying for your job prospects michelle.

as far as bibles go, i use the niv study bible, and also have a thompson chain ref niv as well, dw uses that one as well, when she joined our church they gave it to her. when i worked the gideon's conference one of the guys there was a bit critical of the niv for some changes made throughout the years, but as we talk about at church these are small b belief changes, not large b ones, so i still prefer it to the kjv. i also like the nasb, it a little more poetic than the niv. just my 2 cents.

Thanks for your prayers everyone. I called about the job this morning and they were looking for someone who can actually like play soccer and volleyball, etc. with the kids and right now that's a little beyond my physical capabilities at the moment. The man I spoke with on the phone was actually quite rude when I asked him about the physical aspects of the job. Oh well, this didn't work out but I trust and know that God has something else planned for me.

Hi everyone! We were evacuated due to flooding from hurricane IVAN here in my little town in Northeast PA (the dams above us had begun to flood, so they had to open them and let water out, plus the 6" we got on Friday added to it) so I haven't been on much lately, but I think of you guys and keep you in my prayers.
