Christian Music Thread

Cristy, I just prayed for you. I am so sorry that you are going through this hard situation.
I thought I would share this song after reading your post. I have had many times when I listened to it to remind myself that He is there, in control. I completely understand what you mean when you say

Trust His Heart
recorded by many artist. My favorite version is by NewSong.

All things work for the good
Though sometimes we can't
See how they could
Struggles that break our hearts in two
Sometimes blind us to the truth
Our Father knows what's best for us
His ways are not our own
So when your pathway grows dim
And you just can't see him,
Remember He's still on the throne

Chorus:

God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When don't see his plan
When you can't trace his hand
Trust His Heart

He sees the master plan
He holds the future in his hand,
Don't live as those who have no hope,
While our hope is found in him.
We see the present clearly
But he sees the first and last
And like a tapestry He's weaving you and me,
To someday be just like him

(Chorus)

He alone is faithful and true
He alone knows what is best for you

(Chorus)

When you can't trace his hand
When you don't see his plan
When you don't understand
Trust His Heart

Thanks for posting this!!!!!! I have the chorus posted on my desk here at work. I've got to look for the version by Newsong, I think I have only ever heard it done by Dick & Mel Tunney (???spelling).:goodvibes Thanks so much for the prayers to they are so appreciated.

iTunes has it. I looked for a link to post by Newsong when I posted the lyrics, but I could not find a video or anything. It was on their Light Your World album.

BTW, thanks for posting that Mark Harris song! I had not heard it before. I went to iTunes and downloaded it.
KristinBelle, thank you for posting A More Beautiful You! I had not heard it before either. I also downloaded it from iTunes. It is great! I forwarded the link to the video and the lyrics to several friends. I also showed them to my daughters, ages 14 and 10. I reminded them that God created them just the way they are and that they are beautiful!

This song touched my heart in a way few have-

A More Beautiful You- by Jonny Diaz

That song got me, too, but for a reason completely different to the actual message of the song.

I've always felt insecure in my personality (I'm far too shy and quiet for my own good) and the world of young adults isn't kind to girls who have never been on a date or had a boyfriend. Even when I'm surrounded by acquaintances, I'm so lonely, because I'm pretty much ignored. Add to that the fact that I have no idea what my future is going to be beyond college, when even my twin brother knew what he was going to be by the time he was a preteen... I get discouraged sometimes. So the line "You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do" got me sobbing on the way to work one day, just from the sheer relief knowing that God does have a plan for me, even if I don't know it yet.

I know it's weird, but that one line taken out of context really gave me peace. :)

Your post really touched my heart. I have two daughters, ages 14 and 10 (soon to be 11). My older daughter is extremely quiet and shy....my younger one is just the opposite. I already see that the young people are not kind and ignore just as you said. We teach both of our daughters that they are to honor God with their lives and not worry about what the world says or does. It is still hard I know.
I just recently bought the books Authentic Beauty and Set Apart Femininity by Leslie Ludy. Have you heard of them or her? My friend went to the Set Apart conference in Denver over the summer. She came back and told me all about it. Leslie teaches teen and college age women about living the set apart life......set apart for Christ. She and her husband, Eric, teach how to let God write your love story, to live set apart for God until He brings your future husband/wife into your life. It is what we are teaching our daughters. I am so excited to learn about Leslie Ludy and the Ludy ministry.
Check out these web sites to learn about them. They tell their love story, share about their beliefs, books, etc.

Warren Barfield -Love Is Not A Fight

Love is not a place
To come and go as we please
It's a house we enter in
Then commit to never leave

So lock the door behind you
Throw away the key
We'll work it out together
Let it bring us to our knees

Chorus:
Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

To some, love is a word
That they can fall into
But when they're falling out
Keeping that word is hard to do

Chorus:
Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

Love will come to save us
If we'll only call
He will ask nothing from us
But demand we give our all

Chorus:
Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

I will fight for you
Would you fight for me?
It's worth fighting for

This song always makes me smile!!!!!!

Who? - By The Newsboys

How you gonna reckon with a God like this?
When you gonna face what you can't dismiss?
Whatcha gonna say to the... Soul Kiss that is my God?
Fearsome like the sag in a fat man's chair?
Sweeter than a patch of Rogaine hair?
How do you define what you can't compare?
This is... My God

And there's no use explaining what can't be contained

(CHORUS)
I'm not following a God I can lead around
I Can't tame this deity
That's why Jesus is the final answer
to Who I want my God to be!
He's Who (I want my God to be...)

How you gonna reckon with a God this Great?
Why you gonna measure what you can't equate?

Whatcha gonna say to the... Checkmate that is my God?
Stronger than the burn of an aftershave?
Tender as a burger in your microwave, rarer than the air in an empty grave?
This is... My God

And there's no use explaining what can't be contained

(REPEAT CHORUS)

How we gonna work this out?
To fabricate a God like this?
No doubt
We'd end up worshipping a Christ of our own design
But Jesus doesn't fit that profile
His ways aren't mine

I'm not following A God that's imagined!
Can't invent his deity
That's why Jesus is the final answer
to who I want my God to be
He's Who I want my God to be

(REPEAT CHORUS)

I have been listening to this one a lot lately. It has been so exciting to watch God grow my DDs in their faith. He is really doing a work in our lives as a family. He is deepening their personal walks, too. I love watching it, listening to them! It is so neat to watch them stand on their faith, not our faith - their parents' faith.....you know what I mean? It is so awesome to see!
Anyway, this song has really been a great one to remind me of how God has been so real and so many things to me through the years. I love to remember how He has been the I AM in so many different situations, and I am praying for my girls to get to experience it through their stages of life and all of their situations too!
Cristy, I even thought about your situation when I listened to it this morning. God can be the I AM to your children as they start this new school year.
Isn't our God so awesome!!!!!!!! He is always there!!!!!!!!!!!

I may have posted this already. Sorry if it is a duplicate, but it is just as powerful each time I hear it!

I Am
by Nicole Nordeman

Pencil marks on a wall, I wasn't always this tall
You scattered some monsters from beneath my bed
You watched my team win
You watched my team lose
Watched when my bicycle went down again
And when I was weak, unable to speak
Still I could call You by name
And I said, Elbow Healer, Superhero
Come if You can
You said, I Am

Only sixteen, life is so mean
What kind of curfew is at 10pm?
You saw my mistakes
And watched my heart break
Heard when I swore I'd never love again
And when I was weak, unable to speak
Still I could call You by name
And I said Heartache Healer, Secret Keeper
Be my best friend
And you said, I Am

You saw me wear white by pale candlelight
I said forever to what lies ahead
Two kids and a dream, with kids that can scream
Too much it might seem when it is 2am
And when I am weak, unable to speak
Still I will call You by name
Shepherd, Savior, Pasture Maker
Hold onto my hand
You say, I Am

The winds of change and circumstance blow in and all around us
So we find a foothold that's familiar
And bless the moments that we feel You nearer

When life had begun, I was woven and spun
You let the angels dance around the throne
And who can say when, but they'll dance again
When I am free and finally headed home
I will be weak, unable to speak
Still I will call You by name
Creator, Maker, Life Sustainer
Comforter, Healer, my Redeemer
Lord and King, Beginning and the End

I Am
Yes, I Am

:goodvibes That is so beautiful!!!! I am sitting here with tears in my eyes reading it. I've never heard it, I'm going to have to get this CD.

This song has that effect on me, too. :goodvibes I cry every time I hear it played or even sing it in my mind.

Though the music is dated, the lyrics to this song are so powerful and always bless me. Sometimes we don't get the answer we want, but I know that "Jesus Never Fails"!

Truth - Jesus Never Fails

Jesus Never Fails
Words & Music by: Gary Driskell
Featuring Shawn & Lee Ann and Tim & Bridget Dill
Verse 1
So many souls have tested Him throughout the course of time.
So many still reach out to Him with broken hearts and minds.
And every one of them will say,
Without exception that they find…
Jesus never fails...
Verse 2
Even in the days of old, He brought His people through.
And then He came to show His love and died for me and you.
Then He rose again to prove,
That every story has been true…
Jesus never fails…
Chorus
Jesus never fails. Jesus never fails.
You might as well get thee behind me, Satan
You cannot prevail, because Jesus never fails.
Verse 3
Sometimes this world brings trouble I find so hard to bear.
I know I could not make it without Jesus being there.
It’s so encouraging to know,
How ever deep we’re in despair…
Jesus never fails.
Verse 4
So what can I do to prove to you, tell me how can you deny?
No untold facts, no mysteries, it’s all so cut and dried.
On the witness stand of your life,
I’ll be the first to testify…
Jesus never fails!
Repeat Chorus
I know… Repeat Chorus
Tag
You might as well get thee behind me, Satan
You cannot prevail, because Jesus never fails.
Never fails…

Was listening to a live CD by Rich Mullins this morning and this song and dialouge spoke to my heart in such a powerful way that I had to share it here. DH felt called to the missions field several years ago and went forward and surrendered....but then comes life and raising kids and chasing the American Dream and after a semester of Bible college it all got put on the back burner. The Lord has really convicted me this morning of being proud and I think for many years I've been using "my kids go to private school" not so much as a conviction but out of pride or a status symbol. Realize that there are some things I need to change.

RICH MULLINS NONE ARE STRONGER [LIVE] LYRICS
Rich Mullins “I believe that if you were chosen, that if you were elected. I believe if God has anything for you, it's not just to make you happy. God did not choose you and call you out of this world just to make you high. And God didn't choose you and God didn't call you out of this world just so you that could be pious. Because there are enough pious people and enough happy people in the world. What God called you for, and what God called you to is to make a difference in the world.”

“You know, there are a lot of people who have never heard the gospel of Christ. Somehow, I have a little bit of trouble when I see people spend fifteen, sixteen bucks a hit to hear some flashy Christian group say 'Jesus is Lord' to the tune of fifteen bucks a person when there are people who live not far from here who can't even afford to buy a Bible. And somehow, it seems a little bit weird that we should have more ministers in this country and fewer people, when in the world where there are so many people who would give anything to have a minister, they can't find them, because they're not there, because they're in our country.”

“I don't believe that God chose you and blessed you so that you could heap those blessings up upon yourself. I believe God chose you and you and you and every one of you others, because He wants to make a difference in this world. And you know what? What I think is scary about God is He didn't come up with any 'plan B.' That He left the church here, and the church is the only group of people and the church is the only institution in the world that can bring about a change. This government cannot do it, so stop depending on the government. Educational systems cannot do it, so stop trusting educational systems. The church was chosen by God to make a difference.”

“And you know what, people? You ain't going to make a difference by building more bombs. And you ain't going to make a difference by putting on more makeup and showing up on more television shows. And you're not going to make a difference by having the loudest P/A or the biggest crowd at your concerts. You're gonna make a difference when you lay down your life, and in complete submission to God, choose to die with Him in service to other people. And I had this great realization one night, and that's when I wrote this song.”
(guitar begins)
And as I lay me down one evening,
I thought of Jesus on the hill
And how for men He was weeping,
When it was Him they were going to kill
And I know it would have saved them
Had they only just allowed
None are stronger than the humble
And few are weaker than the proud

And then my thoughts, they turned to David,
And how he watched his father's flocks
How the music that he was playing
Could calm the demons in a mighty man's heart
And when the prophet came round looking for a king,
He sought young David out,
'Cause none are stronger than the humble
And few are weaker than the proud

And I know that you know about Moses,
And how he left the Pharoah's courts
When he saw the injustice
Done to the people, the people of the Lord
And though his fears drove him to hiding,
The Lord his heart with courage soon endowed
'Cause none are stronger than the humble
And few are weaker than the proud

And none are stronger than the humble
And few are weaker than the proud

I've been looking for the lyrics to this song for a long time but could only remember bits and pieces of it so it made the hunting hard. A friend stopped by today to give me a CD of their church choir and the song is on the CD. :goodvibes

Hope this song is as much a blessing to you as it is to me!

Verse One:

Oh, I've heard a lot of singing..'bout the land beyond the blue....
And the place that Jesus promised...that He'd fix for me and you...
And, I've heard a lot of people talk...about that land to be...
So, I've made a little list of some things...I especially want to see

Verse Two:

Oh, I want to see my Jesus...when I've reached that land on high...
I want to bow down before Him and worship at His feet....
Then I'll stand upon the curbstone...'long the shining streets of gold...
And, I'll look my mansion over..where I'll live while ages roll.....

The Chorus:

WHEN IT GET UP TO HEAVEN...WHEN I'VE RUN AND WON THE RACE...
AND I FINALLY STAND IN GLORYLAND...JUST A SINNER SAVED BY GRACE....
THEN I'LL HEAR THE HALLELUJAHS...AND THE GLAD HOSANNAS RING.....
AS THE SAINTS FROM EVERY TRIBE AND TONGUE, THEIR SAVIOR'S PRAISES SING....

Verse Three:

Oh I have a precious loved one...who has fought and won the race
I want to look them up....and tell them that I made it by God's grace
And I know they'll be so happy.....ore they'd often prayed for me
That the Lord wold me me....just what I should be

Verse Four:

Now, I'm intending to be present...when the marriage feast is spread....
And, I want to watch my Savior...as He takes and breaks the bread....
And, I want to see the light that shines...upon His blessed face....
As He lifts once again, those nail scarred hands...and leads in saying Grace....

The Chorus:

WHEN IT GET UP TO HEAVEN...WHEN I'VE RUN AND WON THE RACE...
AND I FINALLY STAND IN GLORYLAND...JUST A SINNER SAVED BY GRACE....
THEN I'LL HEAR THE HALLELUJAHS...AS THE GLAD HOSANNAS RING.....
AS THE SAINTS FROM EVERY TRIBE AND TONGUE, THEIR SAVIOR'S PRAISES SING....

Verse Five:

When the angel takes the Book Of Life..in which our names are set...
And he starts to read them over...going down the Alphabet....
When he finally comes to my name...and he reads it loud and clear...
I'm going to stand upon my tiptoes...raise my hands and shout...I'm here....

This is one of my current favorites.

Already Home by Thousand Foot Krutch

The trouble with truth is it never lies,
And the trouble with wrong that it's never right,
So I rest my head onto your light.

The trouble with peace is it never fights,
And the trouble with love that it's always blind.
I want to walk to the edge of it tonight
And I fall down.

I am on my knees 'cause you're everything I need,
And I've made a mess of myself on my own.
And now I am on my face and I'm calling out your name,
And I won't run away 'cause I'm already home.

The trouble with tears is that they dry,
and the trouble with faith made me wanna cry.
I've never felt so much like I'm alive,
I wanna open my eyes and see your face.
If I have to wait a thousand days,
I'd still be right here right next to you.
And I fall down

I am on my knees 'cause you're everything I need,
And I've made a mess of myself on my own.
And now I am on my face and I'm calling out your name,
And I won't run away 'cause I'm already home.

And I won't run away,
I won't run away,
I won't run away 'cause I'm already home.

And I know I haven't always been
Where you wanted me
Standing here on top looking down, before you.
I know I haven't always been,
Where you wanted me, standing here on top
Looking down,

I am on my knees 'cause you're everything I need,
And I've made a mess of myself on my own.
And now I am on my face and I'm calling out your name,
And I won't run away 'cause I'm already home.

Thank you so much for passing this on! I just watched the video. The song is great! The words are so true and a great encouragment/reminder! I just went to iTunes and bought it! :thumbsup2 Tell your friend that the song is a blessing! I am going to pass on these two links to my friends now!

I heard and downloaded a song over the weekend that I really wanted to post and share here. It is titled Better Than I. However, I am not able to find a link for the lyrics or a video to share anywhere online. I have a link for the album and you can hear a quick sample of the song.
The lyrics talk about God knowing all about our lives, all about us. He knows better than we do. We can only see the immediate circumstances and do not understand. The artist is Dallyn Vail Bayles. He is an amazing singer!!!!! Check it out. It is on iTunes also so you can hear more.

http://www.dallynvailbayles.com/ordercd.htm
It is track #6 on the album.

I hope ya'll will listen to this:

His name is Sean McNeill. Sean & his wife, Mindy, now head the music in the Bridge service at our church.

I think he is extremely tallented. :thumbsup2 He was in American Idol in 2004 when Carrie Underwood won.

I am so excited to share this song this morning!
This was one of my FAVORITE songs in the early 90s. I cannot begin to tell you how much it ministered to me so many times. I had the old cassette and wore it out. Honestly, all of the letters wore off of the plastic tape. ;) Then, as time passed on, I could no longer listen to it because it wore out and also we got rid of our cassette players, etc. When I got my new iPod I tried to find the song on iTunes. It was not there. I looked and looked online for the song on CD, but I could not find it.
Then last night I heard it on a local Christian radio station!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!! Apparently a new group has released it. I had never heard of this group before last night, but they do a great job with the song. I searched as soon as I got home and iTunes has it. I also found that they added my old group singing it too. Granted it is not the same old album that I have, but it is still the group.
So, here it is. I had to share it. The song is called "Holy of Holies." The original group that I am talking about is Truth. (Do you remember them? GREAT group!) The new group that has just released it is called the Dills.
I found a video of them singing it live so you can listen to it. I wish that I could find a video of Truth's version, but I cannot. iTunes has Truth and the Dills singing it now!!!!!! :thumbsup2
The words are so true......so awesome! Because of God's redemption plan, because of the precious blood of Jesus, I can approach the throne, the Holy of Holies! Thank you Lord!!!!!!!!!!

Holy of Holies

Verse 1
In the Holy of Holies, behind the heavy veil
Sat the Ark of the Covenant, where the most high dwelt
And only the high priest, could enter there in
To offer up a sacrifice, for atonement of sin
But the veil was rent in an instant, revealing that holy place
At a hill near by on a rugged cross, justice met grace

Chorus
Now I can go into the Holy of Holies
I can kneel and make my petitions known
I can go into the holy of holies
And although I’m just a common man
Because of God’s redemption plan
I can boldly approach God’s throne

Bridge
The blood of sacrifices, is no more required
For the blood of Christ, the spotless Lamb completely paid the price
On a sacrifice of worship, we’ll open heaven’s door
Allowing us to enter in, the presence of the Lord

Repeat Chorus

Repeat Chorus

God’s Throne, God’s Throne
Boldly approach God’s Throne

Very nice message!:thumbsup2
