did anyone else think he was WAY out of line? i know i won't bother going to see his new movie now( he said when he was writing it, if he thought white people would'nt like it, he knew it was right:scared1: ). he just kept on putting down white people. if he would have stopped at just one or even two things, maybe???, but he just would'nt let it go.:confused3 i don't think he is any better than michael richards. but i haven't seen any uproar over this? HE even made the comment, that he must have taken some black panther pills before coming out on stage.
sorry if this has been brought up already, i just watched it on tivo. i am just so mad:mad:

I don't watch Letterman, so I can't comment on that specific show. I don't like CR's "humor". I find him annoying.

wow, i looked for a link and could not find anything about this. i cannot believe that it hasn't been big news. he went on about babe ruth, and that if there had been any "brothers" playing back then, that he would not be anyone special, and to leave barry bonds alone. he said that when he sees white babies, he thinks, wow , those babies would be a whole lot better looking if they had little black in them. it was like that the whole interview.

Are you serious? I think babies of all races are beautiful, I can't imagine thinking that a baby would look better if they had a little white in them! :confused3 Seriously WTH.

This has been his schtick for YEARS. I have a video of his that would make your hair curl!

BTW, I used to date his brother... the whole family is funny!

I wouldn't say out of line, I think he's funny, but my husband said he thought he seemed drunk or something...:confused3

This is really nothing new coming from Chris Rock. I caught one of his specials on tv a few years. It was reverse racism, I haven't liked him since.

Racism of any type should not be encourged!

I never like Chris Rock. I've heard him say other comments about white people that were out of line also.

i went to lettermans web site, i could'nt get it to play on my computer, so not sure if it is the whole interview or not. it might just be the part where he says he knows there might be a God , but he Knows theres an oprah. now i love oprah, but i really don't like the way chris rock came off the other night. i think i hurts race relations. yeah, he makes fun of black people too, but i don't like that either.

Here's the current article/interview he did for Life Magazine.

The Letterman appearence will take a couple of days to surface on YouTube. Chris Rock likes going right to the edge of the line, then bodly crosses over it. I have seen so many different HBO specials on him and there's times when he gets really offensive and goes way too far. This definitley sounds like one of those times. Of course he will get a pass on this and nothing will come of it.
I own three of his performances on dvd and trust me, I don't keep them in the family section with all the other dvd's.:lmao:

I just finished watching him on Inside The Actor's Studio on Bravo. I have followed his comedy for years, and even though he has always included race in his act, during this particular interview, he did seem to be a tad bit, how do you say, "obsessed" with the white/black thing. Like all of a sudden he had some epiphany that the whole white world is out to get him. Now I can take racial humor directed towards any and everyone, but this particular interview:confused3 Maybe he's suffering from the same thing that Dave
Chapelle was suffering from - sounds like another trip to Africa is in the future.

Racism is racism. He doesn't get a pass because he happens to not like white people. He's just another loser.

(If it's true. I didn't see it.)

or if he's a comedian and think's it's a joke.

I don't see the humor.

Making fun of black peple is mean, but making fun of white people is funny?

Sorry, Charlie. That's racism.

I don't think that Chris Rock hates white people. For one thing, he's a *huge* fan of Woody Allen, and you don't get much whiter than Woody Allen.

isn't that what michael richards did? i think he was wrong. and i think cr is wrong too. but part of my frustration is that if this had been a white person to say these things it would be sooo much worse in the media.

Me too...God I love that show. Mr. James T. Lipton is one cool dude.
Next week is a guy actor I love..:goodvibes Mr. Mark Ruffalo...oooolala.;)

I like Chris Rock. I am well aware of his brand of humor. However, it is TAME compared to most black comedians.:confused3
