Chris Cuomo is leaving too????? :-(

He just announced it on GMA. He'll be the new head anchor at 20/20.
I'm going to miss him. He's so funny.

Between him and Diane leaving it just won't be the same.

Such disappointing news to hear. GMA has always been my morning show. Chris should have been moved over to Diane's seat. Just can't see George fitting in so well. Must be very difficult for Robin and Sam right now - there always seemed to be such wonderful chemistry between the 4 of them.

Not a big fan of George taking over. Just don't "see" it.

I remember years back when they had a shuffling of anchors and the show tanked. Then they brought Charlie and Diane back. It was suppose to be a short gig for them to just help revive the show till they got it back on track. They ended up staying on for years. Do you remember that? I hope the show doesn't tank again.

I've loved the Sam, Diane, Robin and Chris team.

I wonder if Chris didn't get the job at GMA because he already knew about 20/20 but couldn't say anything.

I just heard this ,too. I am surprized they kept it such a secret. I really like Chris Cuomo. He said he'd also be doing breaking/ important news, so I'm assuming for the nightly network news. Maybe I'll actually see him more since I don't see GMA everyday.

I am disappointed too. I love GMA but it will NOT be the same without Diane and Chris.

FYI - I don't think this was his choice. He was essentially removed from the show because they felt that Juju Chang has better chemistry with George. I am really not a fan of George S. and I don't know Juju at all. Not sure I am going to like this new lineup.

Diane is going to ABC nightly news to replace Charlie (who is retiring).

I really like Chris Cuomo and am sorry to see him go. I like George S, but on Sundays morning, not every morning. Oh well. Could be interesting.

I was thinking this was a step down for George? Any one else thinking this? I am not a fan of his in this role. And I am also sorry to see Chris go as well. Not sure Diane will survive on the Nightly News. Like her... just not sure.

I am not a fan of Diane Sawyer, so I won't miss her. However, I love Chris Cuomo and I think GMA is really going to suffer without him. He should have been given Diane's seat.

I am not looking forward to these changes at all. GMA is my morning news show of choice. I start each morning with them.
I am no fan of George S. at all! I really like Chris! I wonder if he chose to leave because they did not offer him Diane's spot?

They showed special clips all week as a way of saying goodbye to Diane. They showed previous segments from past shows, relived memories, etc. They gave her a full week to say a special goodbye. Why didn't they do the same for Chris??????

It just won't be the same without Diane and Chris. I just do not see how George will fit in with the morning show. I think he's a little too stiff and political. They should have used him to replace Charlie.

ABC can't move George over to the Nightly News. He was too associated with the Clinton administration. The Nightly News would have lost a good portion of republicans who wouldn't tune in to watch him because of that.

I think Diane will be great. Although, her forte is really in hard core interviewing. I was actually surprised she wasn't offered the anchoring spot years ago, instead of Bob Woodruff.

I think they are setting Chris up in the nightly time slot so he will get more exposure to people who don't watch and know him in the mornings. This way, he can naturally fill in for Diane when she takes time off, or when she finally retires.

This is 'sudden news' because it is a new development...
This was not planned.
From what I have been hearing, Chris wanted out of GMA... especially with Dianne leaving and George Stephenopolis coming onboard.
There were rumors that he was composing his letter of resignation... (completely denied, of course)

Maybe I am the lone dissenter here, and others just do not wish to speak negatively, but I have never like Chris Cuomo, at all... He is so 'stiff', is not a 'people person'. Has had botched 'uncomfortable' interviews with many guests.... etc.. etc... I really do not see how anybody could view him as an upbeat, morning, people-person???? He has improved over his time GMA, but this is just not his 'niche'.

While I am GLAD to see him go...
I think that ABC is really in a pinch here, and they are making some bad decisions that will come back to bite them....

I guess we'll see how ABC fares, and if GMA can continue to be a top morning TV program?

I will miss Chris more than Diane. Chris was a great guy. I think they offered him 20/20 when he realized he wasn't going to get the top spot at GMA.

I think George is the stiff one. It will be interesting to see if he fits in.

Yes, I don't think of Chris as warm and fuzzy either. George should stick to being a political analysist.

Why didn't they give the spot to Sam Champion? He's very upbeat, although quite on the plastic side, with not too much depth.

GMA did a long segment this morning with many, many clips of Chris. At the end of the clips, Chris announced he was taking the job at 20/20 with Elizabeth Vargas. He will also do legal reporting for ABC News.
