Chosing a Villa - Not Easy!

I love choosing a villa for our holiday - adds to the fun of the holiday - however this year things just do not seem to be working for me

There are more of us going - a big family holiday after a pretty rough 6 months so my mam (bless her) is taking us all away for Christmas.

It took me ages to find a villa that we all agreed on - everyone had different priorities but I eventually found one that, although wasn't anyone's first choice, it was most people's second choice & it did tick all the boxes.

So I confirmed the booking on Monday, a lovely 6 bed property on Tuscan Hills with a 30' south facing pool & spa & sent the deposit off yesterday.

Lat night I got an email thanking me for booking, followed shortly by another email saying there was an error and the quote should have been almost £400 more and that she would return my cheque when it arrived


It took so long to find this one - really, really disappointed

would of thought she would honour the original price seeing as it was their mistake.. i would tell them you will book somewhere else now that the price has gone up £400, she might then stay with the original price, rather than loose a booking

Sounds to me that they had a better offer,id barter,if i dont get what i wanted then i would look for something else.There are thousands of Villas that the owners would take your hands off for the booking,especially in the current climate.

I would take this line too, it's worth a try, I know it took along time to find this villa, but I'm sure she will want the booking.

Just be careful here, I might be tempted to cancle that cheque rather than wait for it to be returned.

Sorry to learn that you have had a rough 6 months, hope everything is going brighter now.

A great shame about the villa but I am sure something else will turn up. I think I would cancel that cheque too, just to be on the safe side.

:HUG: sorry to hear that this has happend. Have you asked her if she will honour the price? have you tried looking on www.thedibb.co.uk they have a villa rentals section and it's full of all sorts of sized properties, I would give that a search if you can't get the original one sorted out.

The Dibb is always my first port of call for villa rental
