Hi

I have loads of planning sheets to fill in and send back before our planning session, I didn't realise there was so much to think about !

So Last night Lee and I spent ages choosing music for the wedding and by the time we got around to looking at the menu's I was super confused !

From what I have read on here I seem to remember some people choosing to taste all sorts of meals? The menu's we have been sent seem to be set menu's :confused3 Or can we choose some things from one menu and some from another menu?

For example, I would like give our guests the new york strip steak from one menu but the antipasto and the parmasan crusted chicken from another menu. Can we mix and match the menu's??

Hope this makes some sort of sense :rotfl:

Hi,

They give you a ton to decide on for your planning session. You don't have to decide it all now. I had no music picked out and still am deciding on some.

I did have our colors picked out and flowers for our floral session though.

On the food tasting, yes, you can mix and match. We did. And you can even request stuff that isn't on the menus.

I customized menus for both our brunch and dessert party. I picked a menu I liked best and then switched out the things we weren't thrilled with on the brunch. For the dessert party, DF & I picked out menus and took off everything we didn't like and then combined what was left.

Hope this helps...:thumbsup2

You can mix and match menus to create a new menu.

I would suggest trying things that you have no clue how they taste. I tried the parm crusted chicken. I knew what chicken tasted like but not the parm crusted chicken. I also tasted the Mahi Mahi. I don't eat fish so I wanted to know if it was good or not.

Also I tasted a corn and bean salad because I could not imagine what it tasted like and I am glad I did because it was nasty!

That is why it pays to taste things you have never eaten before. :rotfl:

That's also my theory on menu tastings: You prolly know what Mickey waffles taste like or what prime rib tastes like - go for the things you think you might want or you aren't sure about.

Agreed. We put hors douerves on our tasting that we had no clue what they would taste like but were curious, like roasted potatos with caviar cream. (They were delish!) Definitely go for things that you haven't had before but would be interested in trying.

we chose items from actual restaurants to try as well like the canadian cheese soup.

we tried things we were not sure off as you know 9 times out of 10 a steak is going to be good but we tried a filet and a chicken from kona cafe

Yeh it makes a lot of sense to try things we havn't tasted before, didn't think of that :headache: :rotfl:

How about if we are definatly having a buffet for our meal, do we have to taste from the buffet menu's only?

How did you all find other things to taste? is there somewhere I can get hold of the menu's from different resteraunts? or did you just choose things from the menu's they sent to you?

Thanks

It seems like they'll let you try anything, but they may tell you that certain things are not available on a buffet.

For WDW restaurant menus, check out AllEarsnet: http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm

For a sampling of DFTW menus, check out Magical Kingdoms (although many of their menus are out of date, they will give you some idea, and you can always request things even if they're no longer on the menu):

And of course you can always ask your Wedding Consultant or Event Planner for more menus!
