Choosing excursions

Do you know if the excursions and swim are done in the same group (i.e. Kids will watch others swim while they just pet) and does the whole family need to do it or can one parent take two kids? And is there a place to watch or would the other parent have to pay for observer to do so (with no camera)?

I think the answer to these questions will vary by the island and the tour company you are considering. So for "solid" answers (which could still change, LOL) you'll need a reply from someone who did your tour from your company on your island. For us, on Grand Cayman, they split up the "Encounters" from the "Swims" from the "Extremes." Could they have done it if we asked? I don't know. As for if you can watch, again it varies. In our case you might have been able to get kind of a side view from a distance by standing outside the lagoon area, but not a close view. They didn't let any non-participants into the area, though there was easily and area they could have let them in to. They were very careful to prevent outside pictures from cutting into their photo business. But different locations/vendors may have a different policy. You may have to try to contact them directly.
