We are heading to WDW with a school group, and are given 3 resorts to choose from:

Pop Century
CBR
Swan/dolphin

Which would you choose and why? We have to get 2 rooms regardless of where we stay, if that factors into your decision. Thanks!!

CBR. It's onsite, with all the Disney onsite perks( room charging, emh, magical express) , queen beds, water slides and better theming at the pool. Fun vibe, good food options and a good location. But, anything you choose... You will be at Walt Disney World!!! Good luck with your choice and have fun!

I would choose CBR. I do not think you get all the benefits of staying onsite with the Swan and Dolphin .

While the Swan is absolutely gorgeous and I love it's location, you don't ALL the onsite Disney perks. I've stayed at all 3 of the resorts on your list and actually stayed at Pop when it opened and adored it for years and years. As the years went by, in my personal opinion, we started to just not like Pop as much. It's fun and yes, it's large but it wasn't that at all. The Pop just started to have too much 'wrong' with it. CBR is awesome and definitely has great theming, another large resort but the pool area is cool. I would go with CBR because you get all the onsite perks and not the Value feel.

My choice would be CBR for the above reasons.

Swan. The rooms were just renovated, it is comparable to a deluxe resort, you will be within walking distance of EP and DHS plus tons of restaurants, they have some of the best restaurants on property and one of the best pool/recreation complexes as well. Being able to stay in deluxe accomodations and walk to 2 parks trumps a CBR mod hotel with no TS, only buses and no interiror hallways any day of the year. Yes, you will not get DME or 180+10 ADR's, but you can still make your FP+ selections 60 days prior and you get EMH.

Thanks everyone so far!

Leaning towards Swan, as we have stayed at CBR before and don't need airport transportation. Does Swan/dolphin have buses to and from the parks?

Also, do they have QS at the resort?

Swan/Dolphin have Disney bus transportation - usually sharing with one or more of the other Epcot resorts (but it's highly dependent on guest volume and time of day).

The Swan does not have a QS, but there is one across the way at the Dolphin.

Swan -- Great location. Love that you can boat to DHS and Epcot (or walk). I stayed at the Beach Club for the first time last month and loved the location.

Wasn't a huge fan of CBR. Hated the layout and bus transport. If you had a car it might be better. But it got remodeled and the room was very nice.

Pop - It needs a remodel. Beds are horrible in my opinion - Double beds that aren't comfortable.

Swan would be my pick!

I like Pop - it is fairly cheap and is a fun place. If I did not have DVC - would stay there more.

Swan is nice - but it does not deliver your packages to you - so if you do a lot of shopping - that could be a downer. It does have extra magic hours at all the parks. airport transportation you would to get yourself - there are still lots of shuttles you can take - if you rent a car remember to add the parking fees that the Swan or Dolphin does include.

CBR - is spread out - you will be doing a lot of walking there. Now if you need to like I do - it is pretty nice.

Of those three I'd go with the Swan. It doesn't have all the perks, but it's a beautiful resort and great location. We enjoyed our stay there and found it really peaceful but still close to all the action.

I would pick CBR for the same reasons. I've stayed there twice and really loved it.

Swan because it's close to Epcot and HS, not to mention the Boardwalk!

Swan without a doubt
Location location location

CBR- no way. We just returned last Monday and stayed at CBR for the first time. Never again

Pop not bad but why stay value when you can stay at the Swan

Swan is nice - but it does not deliver your packages to you - so if you do a lot of shopping - that could be a downer.

From the Swolphin website:
"Complimentary delivery of purchases made in Disney theme parks
..You can ask that your new Disney souvenirs be delivered back to the hotel for you! When you return to the hotel at the end of the day, simply stop by the Disney gift shop in the lobby and retrieve your merchandise."

Not sure if your experience was different or if it was discontinued, but that's listed on the Special Disney Offers portion of the website:

We stayed at the Swan last month.

There is Boat service to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. You can also walk to each park.
The Bus service to the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom stops at the Swan, Dolphin and Boardwalk.
There is also Bus service to Disney Springs and the Water Park.

The Dolphin has a Cafeteria type quick service (Picabu).
The Swan has a Coffee Bar with Pastries (Java Bar) and a Deli (Splash).
I had trouble initially finding the Splash as it is in the pool area.
