I just left WDW on Friday and went through the
DVC sales pitch. I have been very interested in buying into BWV and asked my guide (who shall remain nameless) what the advantages vs disadvantages were to buying through Disney instead of resale. He told me that Disney flagged prospective buyers who do the presentation in their system and would exercise ROFR on any contract I attempted to buy through resale! Then he said they did have points available at BWV but the point cost and MF were way higher than SSR. I was never told about the incentive points being offered right now at AKV, and was also told that the MF there were way higher as well (I do not conisder 1/2% way higher). I did end up paying a $500 refundable deposit the last day of our trip to take advantage of the SSR incentives. I should get my paper work next week sometime. There was no pressure to buy, but after returning and reading some of the posts, I feel like there was not complete honesty in the discussion we had. I like SSR and do not mind buying into it, but was our guide deceitful in what he told us?
