Choosing a resort

Where you stay is mostly a matter of budget, how you like the 'theme' of each hotel (which tends to be very subjective) and which parks you plan to spend the most time, but if going to all 4 parks that would be less of an issue. Doing a park each day for 8 consecutive days will be a LOT of walking which many will find exhausting, even if you take a break for part of each day. As previously mentioned, there are many threads about staying in mulitple hotels, some think it is a great idea, others not so much !!!

Oh thank you for this. I need to read a bit better. Lol.

If we end up not staying at Port Orleans is it even worth it to split a stay between Deluxes? Or should we just not deal with that and choose one?
Unless you’re splitting purely for budget reasons, imo the best splits period are between MK and EP deluxes. It’s so incredibly convenient having quick and easy access to 3 parks over the course of a trip. My first split was between GF and YC on an 8 day trip in May/June 2021 and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Thank you. I was thinking about my budget and I can swing both Deluxes. I have always wanted to stay at Port Orleans for some reason. I just feel like it looks quaint.

On a side note. When does Disney normally allow you to book for the following year? I'm not seeing February available to book yet.

I would stick with Mod and deluxe for your split stay, you will save a LOT of $$ by not staying deluxe for the whole trip, that you can use for dinners, souvenirs etc. I think that the "location" thing is so overrated, especially when you are spending probably $300 more PER night. JMO But we are not a family that takes breaks in the middle of the day, we rather stay at the park and just sit at lunch longer or find a nice spot to sit and relax. I also agree with not paying extra for park hoppers, a lot of people really like to rush through a park, hit their favorites and leave, but you miss a lot of other park stuff that way.
I would sit down with your DD and look at images of both POR resorts and decide that way. Our family has them rated as POFQ and then POR, and we do walk or take the boat over to the sister resort to eat etc. I will say that our family really enjoyed just walking through both of those resorts, they are so well themed. Have a great stay.

If I had an 8 day trip I'd absolutely jump at a WL/BC or BW split stay. Just plan your parks according to your location. I just loved WL and I'm excited about getting to stay at YC this year. We haven't stayed at any of the Epcot resorts before.
