Choosing a moderate resort

POFQ and CSR are our favorites.

POFQ for shorter trips and/or with younger kids. Agree totally with all the positive of PPs. A negative for us is the pool - it is really themed for younger kids. Once our kids/grandkids hit 10-ish, the POFQ pool lost its appeal. Yes, you can walk over to POR and use that pool - but if you're going to do that, why not just stay at POR? We also don't like that there is not a table service restaurant at POFQ. Sometimes, we just want to be waited on rather than brave quick service. Again, you have to walk over to POR or take the boat to DS for a table service option. All that said, I chose POFQ for a recent 4-day trip with my granddaughter - it was the perfect resort for just the two of us.

CSR "corrects" both the issues above. Pool is in the running for one of the best on property, especially for tweens/teens. They've always had a TS, and restaurant options are expanding with the addition of the tower. And while POFQ is quaint and compact, CSR is beautiful and yes, large. Three distinctly themed areas (expanding to four with the tower addition), each appealing to different folks. For a longer stay, or one with more resort-time planned in, we head for CSR.

Is there a reason you're not considering two resorts - one for pre-cruise and one for post? You might want to consider the "most relaxing" one (as your family would find it) for post-cruise. Having done WDW multiple times pre- and post-cruise, we found it very difficult to motivate for high-energy park visits after the cruise. We just wanted to continue the relaxation . . .

Edit: Scanning back over the thread, I think I got this one mixed up with another that include a cruise. Sorry for any confusion!
