Either Toyota will treat you well, but I really encourage you to check out Civics and Accords... Best built cars on the road, and extremely reliable. PLUS, they hold thier value very very well.

Remember that if someone totals your Ford or Pontiac, you will more than likely be upside down in what you owe... With a Toyota or Honda, you'll more than likely receive money back once it's paid off.
I dont understand where you come up with the Ford is not dependable. My DM has a Focus that has 125,000 miles on it.We have always drove Fords and have never had a problem with them at all.We have a 03 Eddie Bauer Expedition, 05 Escape, 04 F-150,and a 00 Focus and We Love them all.

We buy American. I know alot of the parts in all cars are foreign but just can't buy a Toyota

I highly recommend the Toyota Corolla! I just bought a new 2004 Corolla in January and I absolutely love it! I had a Toyota Tercel for 10 years before I traded it in for the Corolla and it had 160,000 miles on it. Toyotas are very reliable cars. I get great gas mileage with my Corolla and it is a very comfortable and fun car to drive.

Toyota and Honda both have manufacturing plants is the USA. Don't feel like you're putting an American out of work by buying one of their vehicles. ;)

I went with a Camry, but Corolla's are just as good.

We had a Camry for 12 years & never had a problem with it at all, very reliable cars the Toyotas.::yes::

We currently own two Toyotas and would swear by them. Our 4Runner has 160,000 miles so far, and I think it's only just getting started. It runs perfectly. Our old Toyota pickup is currently owned by my BIL and still is going strong at over 150,000. Our Sienna has over 70,000 without a single problem yet.

However, my last vehicle I bought was a Mazda 6. It compares to a Camry and is tons of fun to drive. I got the sports package.

But if fuel economy is important, I'd tell you to pick the Corolla. I particularly like the Corolla S.

I just traded in my 2000 Focus for a Tacoma.
I loved the car, but I just couldn't afford the repair bills on it. 35,000 miles and I needed 2 complete brake jobs, had numerous recalls on it, and when the starter went that was it.

It got excellent gas mileage and it was fun to drive, but it wasn't terribly safe in icy conditions.

OK - I got one of those too. Actually gets better gas mileage than the Mazda! No room for the kids though...
