Choose betwn Avis & Alamo

I have the choice of renting a car from either Avis at the Hilton in Downtown Disney or Alamo from the Car Care Centre. If the price is the same at both places, which would be a better pick?

I am going to DD on the day I'm picking up the rental but not on the day returning it. I'll be returning it the morning that we fly home so I'll probably need to take a taxi back to my resort to save time. (I've been told that Avis doesn't offer shuttles).

Getting a rental at the CCC - I'd have to take time out of my plans of going to DD to pick it up but would save money by being able to get a shuttle the day I return it.

I'm thinking it's just a toss up bwtn the cost of the taxi and the convinence of picking it up. But thought I'd get some input in case I'm missing anything. Thanks guys (and gals!)

The shuttle to the CCC will also pick you up from your disney area hotel and drop you off at no charge. Both Alamo and National are located at the CCC. If prices are similar, I would go with Alamo. They have a kiosk there that takes less than 5 minutes to use. Just get keys from the attendant at the window. It's pretty effortless. Alamo will also allow you to return the car directly to MCO but, double check the price as some trips, it is considered round trip, and other times it is considered 2 one ways. You can price it out on the Alamo website. Best of luck.

We're just using the car for a couple of days to go outlet shopping and for a quick ride back to the resort on one really late night park night. We're more comfortable with the Disney bus doing the driving to MCO

Another advantage to the Avis solution is that you wouldn't have to wait for the shuttle.

I personally prefer Alamo, but a lot of that has to do with the kiosk as well as selecting your own car. But at the CCC I believe the car selection is made for you, so that's kind of a voided point.
