Chocolate Shrinkage...

When we first started staying CL we received some wonderful gifts but that was in the mid 90,s. At the RPC GF we received a large tin full of raspberry short bread cookies that we could take home along with a little sewing kit in a Victorian style tin.I still have it. This year at the GF we dift receive any welcome gift and one night we received 2 little squares of chocolate. In March of this year we stayed at the BWI CL and did receive a small plastic box of chocolates with one of them having BWI on it. Heck when we stayed at the AKL CL we even received a thank you for staying with us departure bag with 4 bottles of water in it for our trip home. Of course that was back in the early 2000's.

Somewhere around here I still have my GF sewing tin! Poly CL left the chocolate bar last September and the little squares of chocolate with turndown but BWI CL left pieces of taffy at turndown. Not good when you have crowns, but my daughter enjoyed them

Wasn't it great when you felt like they really were happy you were staying with them? I do get that feeling still with the CM at the BWI CL but gosh for the price we are all paying we shouldn't have to be looking for it. When we stayed at the AKL CL we were celebrating my husbands 50th birthday and on his birthday we came back to a birthday cake, balloons and signed cards. It was so unexpected and very appreciated. The bag they put the water bottles in for our departure was made to look like vines and was really well made, my son used it for years to keep his base balls hanging in. All that and the price was less than half of what we pay now. Now we all come on here and talk about if we got three little pieces of chocolate in a plastic cheap container. Sad, very very sad.

We've never received anything like that in all our stays. It's nice pixie dust, for sure, but not something I would complain about though. I figure I am paying to be close to the parks, the higher end toiletries, luggage retrieval and delivery and transfer service to and from the airport. Towel animals and treats would be nice cherries on top, but not expected.
