Chocolate in WDW: How do you do it?

During my big trip to WDW back in September 2017 (first time in about 30 years), I was amazed and so tempted by all the many chocolate shops throughout the parks and Disney Springs. But each time I was tempted, I faced the reality that it was hotter than the 9th ring of hell outside. I never purchased any of it because there seemed no point unless I intended to eat all of it on the spot. How do you do it? How do you get it back to your room before it's just a big puddle in the bag/box? Do they keep it refrigerated while delivering to the room? Or is it really all for show but nobody's really buying any of it?

I save all my chocolate buying until right before park close. Especially with Karamel Kuche in Germany! It always makes it back to the room ok when I go that route.

They won't deliver purchases of food to your room or resort.

If I want to buy a food item that I don't want to carry or risk having it melt or whatever, I wait to buy it until I'm leaving the park or the area, and usually I'll only do it if it's at night and a little cooler.

The only other real option is to carry a small lunch size cooler and an ice pack (which for me is something I wouldn't do, but it might be a viable choice for you or someone else).

I usually purchase things like that at the very end of the night on my way out of the park.

Depends on if I want it right now or later in the night or take it back home. Usually I buy it just before I leave the park or on my last day before leaving if I'm taking it home. Most of the time if I want it, I want it right now so it's not a problem.

Eat it...and QUICKLY!! Just kidding. Even in December we would wait until we were done for the day and make our last stop to pick up any chocolate we wanted. Our favorite place to get chocolate is from the Ganachery. We get a box and take it back to our room and put in the mini fridge. It is a wonderful treat at the end of the day!

We only buy things like that if we are going to eat it all at that time or right before we are heading to our resort.

Haven't been for a summer trip in some time, but we did Easter and Christmas. Sometimes you'll get 80-degree weather.

1) We usually grab chocolate/cupcakes/desserts on the way out of the park

2) my dessert rarely makes it past the door on the way out.

I went to the Ganachery mid-day, but still walked around on a pretty warm day (not summer or fall hot, but still probably high 80s/low 90s with lots of sun). They have ice packs at the store, and also have mini cooling bags that are free with a certain purchase amount. They said the ice packs would last 2 hours, but my chocolates were still good 12 hours later.

You could have it sent to the front of the park to pick up when you exit or you could have it sent back to your resort gift shop

I will build my entire EP day touring plan around the need to hit Karamell Kuche just before I'm planning to leave the park.

We've been twice in September, both times it was pretty warm (read: we were melting).

We just skip soda/alcohol/chocolate those trips. It's far more important to stay hydrated with straight up water, which allows us to go longer and do a whole week in the parks and not be exhausted when the trip is over.
