I haven't been to Disneyland since November 2007. Does anyone know if they stlil have huge, chocolate filled croissants at the Blue Ribbon Bakery?

Also, are the Nestle cookies at the bakery gone now?? The Nestle ones are so much better than the regular cookies that they sell at counter service places.

I would like to know too! I'm addicted to the chocolate filled croissants at Panera Bread so I would love to try a Disneyland version. :)

I didn't know Panera had them. I'll have to try them. The chocolate filled croissants at WDW were not very good.

Panera has muffin tops that are good...especially the pumpkin spice one!

Yes Panera has them. I like to bring it home and put it in the microwave for a few seconds to melt the chocolate. Hmm.... anywhere at DL to heat up a chocolate filled croissant? :lovestruc

CHOCOLATE... FILLED... CROISSANTS...???

Oh, I am in deep trouble. :lmao: Blue Ribbon Bakery, here I come!

Mmmm...they have those at a local bakery around here. So yummy.

If they still have them at Blue Ribbon, then I'm totally getting one (or two) next month.

That Blue Ribbon Bakery is dangerous. The big cinnamon roll I had last year was enough to tempt me to come back. But I just learned recently that they sell strawberry shortcake there too - a personal favorite - so that will be reason #2 to go back! One thing I do NOT like about BRB is the set up of the line. They make it so that there is no way you can actually view what is in the display case UNLESS you get IN the line. Sometimes I want to look at what is there first before I decide on buying or not, but by the time I am up to the case to survey all the goodies, I am two feet away from the cash register and I feel obligated to buy! I feel like they kind of set it up that way deliberately - so you will get in the line just to look at the tasty treats and feel compelled to buy something since you are right at the checkout! It is all an evil plan!

Last I heard and saw, they don't make the strawberry shortcake there any more :sad2: Did you see the yummy-looking picture in the Dining Thread. I was sooooooo sad that they didn't have it (and I think maybe for a while now....) :sad1:

That is bad - and good - news! I don't think I saw the shortcake in the dining thread. I don't know if I want to find that picture because then it will just make me want it! It seems like there should be SOMEWHERE in all of DLR that sells shortcake! If they have chocolate cake, they should have shortcake! Oh well, better for my wallet - and waistline - if I don't find any shortcake, although I already know the cinammon roll is there at BRB, so that will be difficult to avoid! I was initially planning on doing the Blue Bayou for a dessert-only meal so my friend could see the inside of the restaurant, but I was checking out some other desserts at other places like Storytellers, for example, and those look pretty tasty. Even ESPN Zone has some good ones. So if I am going to splurge on empty-calorie desserts to send my blood sugar out of control, I might go to some other place other than BB. The BB dessert options are pretty limited.

You can just ask the CMs at BRB to heat it up for you if you get one there. I've had a cinnamon roll heated up before and it was gooey good.

Strawberrys have a season in early summer. Then they bye bye,

True, strawberries are out of season, although I was at DLR last year in late September and in December and I THINK I saw the chocolate covered strawberries in one shop or two. They are out of season but they can still be obtained all year - supermarkets and farmers markets out here in SoCal sell them year round, but they are more expensive. So perhaps Blue Ribbon Bakery just stopped making the shortcake entirely. But they charge an arm and a leg for those chocolate-dipped ones, so they can make up for buying berries at the off-season prices by charging a lot!

Oh this sounds so yummy. :cloud9: Does anyone have a picture of the croissant?

I am almost positive I saw them last year in Fall and Winter. I could be wrong. During the peak berry season, you get better, more succulent berries and they are cheaper. But Disneyland can certainly get them in the off season, as our supermarkets do and can. DL charges something like $4 or more for a chocolate dipped berry so that should be enough to cover what they pay to buy them off-season!

ty lol i know its nuts to pay that price for it but i wanted one last year jsut didnt have a clue where to look now i have a few stores to check out lol
