Chocolate Chip cookies!

Today was one of those picture perfect fall days here in Asheville NC. Lisa and I ran around taking care of some errands and when we got home I had a sudden craving for some home baked chocolate chip cookies. The only problem was, the only ingredients that we had were the eggs,flour and white sugar.

So it was back in the car to head to the store....which we had just left by the way, to get the brown sugar butter, and chocolate chips. On the way back home I could just TASTE those cookies....all warm and soft and delicious.

I began making them and then I realized that I had forgotten the baking soda. So, one more time, back to the store. Now, the store is 15 minutes away, but I had to have those cookies!

Once home dinner was already being prepared and that took my oven for a bit, but the cookies were well on their way at this point.

After dinner, it was time. I got a big glass of frosty cold milk ready and as soon as those cookies came out of the oven they were on a plate ready to be eaten---all warm and soft just as I had imagined.

It was the perfect ending to a pretty spectacular day!

Anyone else get cravings like that? Ones that just HAVE to be satisfied or else?

Okay SwedishMeatball, that is just not fair! Do you know what you just did to my diet with that yummy larger than life picture? I might just have to make some trips to the store myself!

Well, I've been salvating over the picture of an oozing chocolate tart on the front cover of this month's Bon Appetit but don't have the energy to do much but stare longingly at the picture today. It also helps that I don't have a collection of small tart pans to make the recipe.

You were definately having a chocolate chip craving if you made a couple trips back to the store to remedy the problem.
