*Chocolate and Pixie Dust* - An August 2008 TR- 8/29 pg 6: Sort of an update

I tried to sleep in, but the maintenance crew was working on the apartment above me. So, it was hammering and drilling all morning :scared1:
Poopy! You need rest after your mini vacationl!
Mine isn't near as exciting either:

1. Keep students engaged so that they don't drive me nuts.

2. Watch clock until time to watch Grey's Anatomy and Lost.

3. Attempt to DIS in between class changes.

:worship: Good luck with #1...with the beautiful weather...even my mind wonders.
#2:banana:
#3 I don't know how you do that. I get anal if I leave anything unread, because the next time I go back, I have to go back and search through. :worship:

I'm the same way! I have to finish all the unread posts in a thread before I can leave the computer. lol :surfweb:

I'm working on a few things, some Disney related, some not Disney related.

1. I'm going to lunch with my friend to celebrate her birthday.

2. Going to do some trip & baby shower shopping.

3. I need to find airfare for Las Vegas, so am going to do some research.

4. I'm going to take another look at ADRs to see if I need to make changes.

5. I may stop in Borders or Barnes and Noble to check out the guidebooks.

Let me know if you see any good ones :) Sorry to hear about the maint crew rudely awakening u
Tanya I forgot to tell you. I love your new siggie!
thanks :goodvibes

I tried to sleep in but the town crew decided to trim the trees on the cul-de-sac. So - city life - suburbia - same thing... NO SLEEPING IN. :cloud9:

My to do list isn't as exciting -
1. Help DD with Latin term paper. :surfweb: :lmao:

That stinks! I guess it doesn't matter where you live. People will insist on doing loud work that wakes you up.

Good luck to your DD with her Latin term paper.

I didn't find any books that I didn't have already. I gotta check a different store :rolleyes1

When are you going to Vegas? We are going in June and again in Nov/Dec. It's Disneyworld for grown-ups!!

I'm going to Vegas August 24-31. I LOVE Vegas and I agree, it is Disney for grown-ups. I think I'm going to go to the MGM at Foxwoods before August so I can brush up on my gaming skills.

What do you play? I play craps, roulette, and blackjack. I need to learn baccarat.

:cool1: You're home! Can't wait to hear all about your trip.

I am going to write part one of my mini tr tonight.

Wow - right AFTER WDW. We are celebrating my sister's 40th there in June. I play mostly blackjack, with a few of the novelty table games mixed in. I play with my dad. He's a high roller, so he slides us a few black chips now and then. :)

That's a fun 40th birthday. I love the huge wheel that the dealer spins and you guess which number it's going to land on. I usually play that when I'm too intoxicated to count.

But my all time favorite is craps. It's high energy and fast moving. It's a very social game. And I'm a social person ;)

I've begun writing my Williamsburg tr, but I'm so distracted!!! My friend is having a 70s themed 30th birthday party in August and I got the save the date yesterday. So, of course, I had to dig through my 70s music and buy some tracks on iTunes. So it's been all about Andy Gibb, the Bee Gees, Sister Sledge, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Kool & the Gang, and Michael Jackson (not bleached Michael, Off the Wall Michael).

Since this is 70s party, guests have been instructed to dust of their bellbottoms and get ready to do the hustle. So, I've been thinking about costumes. What should I wear??? I'm thinking of going as John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever. I'll wear a white suit and black shirt. Or maybe I'll buy a wig and be Donna Summer when she loved to love you baby. BTW that song will NOT be played at the party. My friend is afraid her grandmother will have a heart attack on the spot. Or maybe I'll be one of the Sweat Hogs from Welcome Back Kotter or Wilona from Good Times. Any suggestions?

Also, I am contemplating buying tickets to see the NKOTB reunion. There are two problems with this.

1. The concert is part of Z100 Zootopia, which is a yearly concert a NYC radio station hosts. That means it's not just NKOTB. Do I really want to pay $$$ to see Miley Cyrus? Miley Cyrus also pretty much guarantees that my friends and I will be the oldest people there without kids.

2. If I go, what seats should I get??? Floor seating? Lower level? Upper level? The tickets start at $285. But when's the next time NKOTB will be in concert?

Anyone else remember NKOTB? Remember when they were "hot" and Hangin' Tough was playing on the radio? C'mon I know some of you read Bop magazine and hung up pictures of Jordan, Donnie, Jon, Joey, and Danny.

Alright who was your favorite New Kid?

Mine was Jordan. I literally had a poster of him with his shirt open over my bed as a pre-teen/teen.

Then I saw him in recent years on a VH1 reality show. Oh, Jordan...what happened to you? :sad1:

:lmao:

Jordan was my favorite too. I loved Joey too, but he just seemed too young. I think he's 5 years older than me, but he looked 8 at the time.

Poor Jordan aged. They all did :sad2:

My least favorite was Danny. Did anyone think he was hot?

I wonder if they sing "Please Don't Go Girl" to their wives? :scared1:

SingingMom...Good luck!

I loved Jordan too! I also liked his one hit wonder when he went solo "Give it To you!" My Acappella Band Friends did it, and boy they did it better....but....golly he was hot!

I wonder if he's still hot. I need to find a pic of him online.

Thanks.

I never have either. Danny was always the 5th New Kid, the one no one thought was hot.

Did you read Bop magazine too? :rotfl2:
Me neither....everyone loved "Joey!" I read Bop, but only at my friend, Diane's house. I wasn't allowed to read that "trash!" hee hee:rotfl2:

#3 I don't know how you do that. I get anal if I leave anything unread, because the next time I go back, I have to go back and search through. :worship:

My mind wanders too -- that's why we are doing novel studies in all three grades of books that I love! :goodvibes

I am the same way, but when it's a choice between no DIS fix and my OCD, the DIS fix wins hands down!

I'm the same way! I have to finish all the unread posts in a thread before I can leave the computer. lol :surfweb:

Normally I am, but I can't resist peeking once or twice during the day.

Number 1 is so important, but number 3 is more important :lmao:

I agree -- especially because I didn't get enough DIS today by a long shot.

Oh the possibilities are soooo endless -- I love the Donna Summer idea the best though.

I totally remember NKOTB -- Hangin' Tough was my favorite song, and I still get excited when I hear it on the radio. I remember a friend of mine was totally obsessed with them and had their pictures all over her notebooks.

Good times, good times.

Unfortunately, my OCD wins out EVERY time! One time I was in school, checkin' the DIS....did so much DISin' that I stayed later in school later becuase I felt bad I was "wasting" their time....hee hee:cutie:
