I booked a weekend getaway last February for my DH and I for the third weekend in October. We are arriving Friday morning October 17th and leaving Tuesday morning the 21st. I just found our that the CHOC walk is that Sunday. I believe that they are expecting anywhere from 13,000 to 15,000 walkers. Will the whole day be crazy crowded? I think I just might have picked a crowded weekend with the walk and the Utah schools being out. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Nah, you'll be fine.

The only thing to note is that the parks open at 10 am on Sunday as us CHOC walkers take over the parks in the wee hours of the morning.

Look into getting some Halloween tickets for DCA, if you like getting a lot fo candy. It is fun and cute and I don't have kids.

HEY! Why not sign up for the CHOC Walk and join us! It goes to a GREAT cause.

PM me or ask here for more info/questions.

Oh, and you should know that the people doing the CHOC walk don't have admission to the parks. We have to buy (or have) separate admission for the rest of the day on Sunday.

But, to sign up for the walk, it is a minimum donation of $25 per person.

And, the best part ever besides helping kids? The characters are on some of the rides as you walk by.

Previous years have had:

Jack and Sally playing tag on the mansion lawn
Alice and the Mad Hatter on the teacups
Princesses on the Merry-go-Round
Billy Hill playing outside in Frontierland, with Chip and Dale dancing.
One of the parade floats up close for pictures (THE URSULA ONE!!!!) YAY!
Buzz in Tomorrowland
Flik and the chick ant (name?) in DCA's Fun Fair.

And many others that escape my pea brain.

I think is will sign up for the walk.

Last year my husband took me to Disneyland for my birthday at the end of July and between the heat and crowds and a bunch of extra weight, I had just an awful time. When I found out that both Disneyland and Disney World decorate for Halloween, I started plotting out this trip last August. I just love anything Disney and Halloween so for me this is a dream come true for sure. Since then I have lost 75 pounds and hope to be down another 25. Being able to really enjoy this trip has been my goal for almost a year.

Thanks for the reply.

So, is it safe to assume no Magic Morning that Sunday? That pretty much wipes out our final day plans in the park.

I think I should take a day off my park passes and put that money to registering for the walk!:)

2SillyBirds - congrats on the weight loss!

I tried to go to the website to sign up for this walk and It keeps asking me for a user name and password. Did this happen to anyone else? It won't allow me access to the site.
Thanks

I don't think that the registration is open yet. I was told that you have to keep checking back and to register right away because they will close the registration when is it full.:confused3

It's possible, but maybe not. I went to the hospital site, and they have a brief description. 5K starting in DL at 7:15am. Ends in DCA.

What time does DL open on weekends in October? It's possible they plan for the walkers to be over in DCA by the time MM would start.

On the hospital site it states: "visit www.choc.org or call 714-997-3000."
