I just read that the CHOC Walk in Park is taking place Oct 16 at Disneyland. This is the first day of our 2 day trip with DS, DDIL and 1st trip for DGS age 2. Can anyone tell me the hours for this event and how much the crowd level may be impacted? We were planning to do Disneyland this day because they are most likely open longer hours.

What is CHOC?

Childrens Hospital of Orange County. It is an annual charity event held at the Disneyland Resort.

I have been twice during the CHOC walk and the first time, a few years ago, I didn't think it made a huge difference in the crowds, but last year there was the walk, as well as UEA weekend (where tons of Utahans (sp???) decend on DLR), and I beleive AZ schools were out for a break. It was crazy busy.

This year UEA is the following weekend and AZ break is before, so I am thinking it will be back to a kind of normal Sunday during Halloween Time!

I was there last year during the CHOC walk. The esplanade before the park opened was CRAZY!!!!! I mean, people lined up all the way to the DCA entrance. Could have been a mix of people just finishing the walk, people still walking (there was a pathway blocked off for the walkers right through the center of the esplanade), and also regular park guests. However, once we were in the parks it just felt like a typical busy weekend day during Halloweentime. Since it was Sunday, I did notice it die down a bit at night. But during the day crowds were no different than the Saturday of the same weekend.

We'll be there Sunday as well, and I'm a bit worried. Is one park or the other typically less crowded following the walk? I thought I read somewhere that most people don't get a ticket to the park immediately, they have to wait a few weeks. Anyone know if this is correct?

This will be my first time participating in the CHOC Walk, so I don't know how it's been in the past. But this year, the discounted tickets offered to walkers can be used on Sunday. They have to be used by Nov. 11th. I have an AP and will be visiting the parks after the walk, so I hope the crowds won't be too bad. So excited about the walk!
