Chit Chat Thread - November ADRs...

Planning freakout/ rant:

Back at 180 days out I book the highly coveted CRT reservation (a party of 4) for our family and LEFT OFF our 1.5 yr old. Later learned that he had to be on the reservation but couldn't add him, called every day, stalked the site... Been trying to add him for months! I finally snagged a party of 5 CRT breakfast, reconciled the compromise of doing breakfast instead of dinner.

Today I realized the cast member that booked my breakfast reservation didn't use my dining plan to reserve it and charged me the $192 in full at booking. I called to get it fixed, they were puzzled and needed supervisor help. The supervisor cancelled my party of 5 reservation and rebooked under the dining plan, refunded me the $192 it but the reservation booked as a party of 4! She said the "infant just falls off" the reservation since he's not eating or part of the dining plan, it's how the booking system works?!

So now I'm back to where I started, with a deal breaker reservation that doesn't include all my family but I was assured we would not be turned away and that it's really okay to NOT have him on the reservation. She made notes on the reservation about this.

I'm torn between the "he wont be turned away" and the "you have to include him due to fire code, they'll turn him away" advice I've been given by many different cast members.

Now I just totally exhausted and torn about this. Also very irritated. *sigh*
I'm posting here because nobody else will understand like you all do.
I think you'll be ok. Last year we were waiting to be seated for a BOG dinner and a lady checking in said she had 6 instead of the 4 reservation. The CM made a quick phone call and told her she may need to wait a bit longer but they would accommodate her.

I'm sorry - that must be SO frustrating. I would highly recommend sending an email to Disney guest services (guest.services@disneyworld.com) nicely explaining the situation and the frustration it's caused. I've had a nightmare time making our ADRs for November and one specific situation that I felt was the fault of a mistake on the part of Disney CMs and the online system. I sent an email, again nice but clear about the problems, and actually wrote a letter that I mailed to Disney corporate and attached to my email. I've received phone calls from two separate people at guest services and they have been beyond wonderful. Very understanding and helpful in resolving the problem. Hope your trip is wonderful!

I've struggled finding an ADR for O'hana breakfast, and so far only have a 10:20, which seems tricky... If the park opens at 9, would you go to MK for a bit first and then breakfast?

I'm really hoping we find something earlier, but wondering if we can make this work, if needed...

Is it your only day at MK?

I don't think you have time to get to MK and spend any time there before breakfast. By the time you get through the gates and to a ride you'll have to turn back around to make time to get to the boat or monorail to get to Poly and in to 'Ohana. Otherwise you can just plan to be at MK around noon and have the rest of the day to enjoy!

I just picked up a 1900 Park Fare Brunch, but when I checked the menu, it's listed as "casual dining" not character dining (like breakfast and dinner). Can anyone confirm that it is or isn't character dining for brunch?

I believe they are now offering a casual dining brunch. Breakfast is character dining with Alice, Mad hatter, Winnie the Pooh, Tiger and ends at 11:50. Dinner is Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner and begins at 4PM.

I don't think that will be enough time. By the time you enter the park, it will be time to turn around and head to your reservation.

If I were to place an order for a BOG breakfast, would I still be able to cancel it later?

The website says you can but I never tried it. We did place our order for our breakfast already. That was a lot of fun talking about the menu and looking at photos of meals. It made us all very hungry! Lol

Can I link ADRs from my husband's account to mine so it's on our magic bands? Can I do it on the computer or call in our just have my ressie numbers with me

They should be showing up in your MDE which means they are linked. If not, log in under hubby, go into the ressie and add yourself as the other party in the ressie. It should update in MDE after that.

Need your help,
On both Magic Kingdom days I have a 8:05 and 9:40 BOG Breakfast.. I would love breakfast one day and lunch the next but so far no luck with lunch. Do you think I will be successful in this?

And since MK opens at 8:00 for all both days would you keep the 8:05 to get in park a few minutes before crowd but miss prime ride time? Or keep the 9:40 come in with crowd, ride a few then eat?

Last question I have a SDMT FP from 9:55-10:55 will keeping 9:40 make us miss this??

Thanks for all your help!

If it were me, I'd keep the later ADR and use the early morning for rides. I haven't done breakfast there yet, (plan to this trip!!) but from what I hear it can be pretty quick so I would think you could still make your FP.

I did my preorder for BOG breakfast today. I can honestly say there isn't much on the menu that appeared to be appetizing. I'm not a huge fan of scrambled eggs unless they are very well done. Now this is on our list of possible cancellations. We already have 2 BOG dinners, which at least then we could see Beast. Oh ugh. More decisions and 19 days till we leave.

We are a party of 6. I have been able to grab separate reservations for a BOG lunch. 2 of us at 10:40 and 4 of us at 11:20. We'd really like to eat together. Do you think if I explain our situation when we check in at 10:40 that they'll try to accommodate us together? I'll certainly continue to look for a reservation for 6 but it's highly unlikely especially because it's the day before Thanksgiving.

I think with having two lunches you can cancel the breakfast if it doesn't look appetizing. Unless it's a pre park opening breakfast and you get the benefit of being in the park. If not, do you think the breakfast adds anything to your trip?

And, the good thing is, cancelling is easier than trying to book something new 19 days out LOL!! :rotfl:

From what I understand, you seat yourself at lunch. Lunch is considered QS so you sit where you can find a table after you place your order.

EDIT: I just reread your post, and I guess you aren't asking about the table but whether you can get in at the same time to order? I would imagine with only 40 minutes separating the reservations they could do something to either seat one party later or one earlier. I'd go at the 10:40 time and ask, that way if they say no you don't lose a reservation.

Personallyni would skip it completely and try for lunch. 9:40 is still really good touring time but if I had to pick I guess drop the 8am

We had 2 booked 30 minutes apart for 6 people. 1 for 4 people and the other for 2 people. I called to ask a CM if there was anyway to put them together and if we'd be able to move it together upon arrival. Twice when I asked I was told a firm no due to fire code. I did eventually get a rez for 6 for the day AFTER I wanted and grabbed it. That was supposed to be our resort resting morning before hitting the world showcase and dinner at Chefs de France but a family vote kept the BOG rez. I figured if it was meant to be for the day before when we are at MK, it will happen. If not, we will use our park hopping and enjoy a breakfast at BOG like our kids wanted. I can't complain, all other ADRS we have were exactly what I wanted so I can live with this. But, here's to wishing. If we get a BOG lunch the day before, then that's even better. :flower1:

We switched our park days a bit and now have an Epcot day with no ADR, which is fine, but wondering if I should grab a lunch or dinner at San Angel or Tutto Italia (which are available) or is there something else I should start searching for? I think Italian or Mecican would be good options for the kids. Any advice?
