Chit Chat Thread - November ADRs...

I love the idea of the Minnie dine but bring its at H&V keeps me back from even wanting it :(
I was thinking the same thing. I'm keeping my Mama Melrose Fantasmic package. I've never eaten at either one but I've heard way more good things about Mama Melrose!! The Christmas theme and characters will be really cool, though I bet!!

How do you do that? I have a subscription to TP and would love the help with FP suggestions.

Once you have completed a touring plan, there is a section that says "FastPass+ Options (skip if not using)" To have TP make suggestions for you, you have to tell them how many FP+ you can have in each tier (if there are no tired attractions, like at MK, you just say 3 FP for the one group). Then, when you optimize, under the attraction it will say "this would be a good candidate for a FP." You can also add in your FP+ selections and times so the program can work around that.

Would you PM me as well if you're able to figure it out?

Hey - definitely @Rinda! I didn't have time to get on tonight so it probably won't be until this weekend. Check out @wmjeffer quote above though...it has some direction for FP suggestions on TP!

Good luck and let me know how it works if you get to play with it before this weekend. You too @FunTimeMom!

Thank you! I would never have figured that out ha!

No problem! Happy to help :) It is not exactly intuitive, but I do like the system as a whole.

Touring plan is my project today since I need to "work" on the fastpass plan. Does anyone remember the 20% off discount code for them? I saw it once before but didn't write it down. I was too focused with ADRs.

MYWISH should get you the 20%

I finally got this Minnie H&V dinner but now I kind of don't want it because of the food reviews. Should I try for a Sci-Fi dinner instead of H&V? I have an Annual Pass for Disneyland so I'm sure I'll see Minnie in her holiday dress there. I just wanted the H&V because it was so coveted and I got caught up in it. What do you guys think?

That is a tough decision! I haven't eaten at H&V personally but I also, personally, only like buffets for breakfast and am typically unimpressed with lunch/dinner food served buffet style. And, H&V doesn't get the best of reviews.

However, with that said...many people do love buffets because of the variety for the family. And even if all the food isn't good then there's still typically something that's not too bad on a buffet. Reviews are also subjective. I've eaten at places with rave reviews and hated it and vice versa.

I think what would be the deal breaker to keep or drop the reservation is if you are fine with OK food but you and your family loving the character interaction with a holiday theme.

I have eaten at Sci-Fi and it is an amazingly fun themed restaurant. However, the food there is pretty average as well. It's not bad by any means, but nobody would go out of their way for Sci-Fi food if you couldn't sit in a car inside a drive-in themed restaurant.

So it sounds like between those two Sci-Fi might have a slightly better quality food but you're deciding between the two experiences....holiday cheer with Minnie and Friends or Drive-In theater atmosphere.

Good luck deciding!!

Woo-hoo!! I just snagged my last needed ADR from rearranging our park days!!

I have an 8:25 a.m. Garden Grill I'm hoping to move to 8:00 and a BOG dinner for 4:10 that I'd love to move to after 5:00...but, at the end of the day I'm happy with everything if I can't move to an earlier/later time!

Now I'm switching my focus on the fast pass plan so I got the touringplans subscription. I tried to make a plan and got overwhelmed with what to choose for the rides. I don't know what to pick. We gowe

We're already doing other character buffets so that's why this Minnie H&V dinner is falling to the lowest priority. I think I'm leaning toward the Sci-Fi dinner instead, mainly for the experience and not the food. We don't have anything like that in Disneyland.

Congrats on getting the ADRs. Did you use scout or buddy, or the Nov cancel thread? If you decide to let go of your BOG dinner, I'd be happy to take that off your hands...depending on date and time. That's one of the last ones I'm trying for.

As for garden grill, I see lots of opening for that in mid-Nov. good luck and hope you get that 8am.

I think that makes sense! Sci-fi is fun and adds a different element to your plans since you already have some character meals!

I'm slow going this morning, so after I eat breakfast I am going to get on TPs and play around some! I would say, if in doubt about a ride then add it and you can always skip it that day if you want. It may help to look at a park map to see which rides are where as you pick them...if that helps any??!! I know it's overwhelming!

Thanks! I follow the November cancellation thread but none of my ADRs have popped up there. And I'm not on any of the paid services. I just look a lot (A LOT)!! LOL!

And, while none of the ADRs were originally available when I looked they are not the ridiculously hard to get reservations like Akershus, BOG (I already had that one), CRT, etc.

And it is funny about GG...I switched that one 2 times with no problem but for our new Epcot day it took me 4 days to get a new breakfast. But, there it was this morning!!

personally speaking sci-fi much much better than H&V but what one person doesnt like the next person might so go for your comfortable booking! Sci Fi is a hard to come by ADR though and we grabbed one on our 180 day mark and never let go lol

So for the folks interested in the TouringPlans FP recommendations, I played around with my MK day and here's what my plan looks like with recommendations. Although, I think it's odd how it gives me the Journey of the Little Mermaid after Peter Pan's flight as opposed to right before our BOG reservation? It seems like it would make more sense for it to be right before dinner given the location. And/or right after 7DMT (it's at the top of the plan but got cut off on the screen grab).

I talked to my DH and he wants to go to the Sci fi dinner instead. I'm having a hard time offering up that Minnie H&V dinner reservation. I don't know why. Maybe because I've obsessed about it for weeks and even set my alarm for 3am to book it.
