To make this short, I used to see my DH's chiropractor a decade ago for back trouble. I had some trouble (specifically) with my lower back. He worked on me for several months and it got better.

Fast forward to today and for the past year, I've had a pain in my sciatic that seems to be getting worse so I went in and he x-rayed me and adjusted me and told me to make an appointment for next week when we could go over my current x-rays, then walked me to the desk. I felt immediate relief and today my leg feels a lot better from that one adjustment. He said he thought he could help me feel better soon.

However, at the desk, the receptionist made 2 appointments for me for next week and explained the 2nd appointment was so we could go over my x-rays and could I please bring in my DH so he could hear what was going on with my back too. I was a little surprised, but thought since I hadn't been there in 10 years, maybe this is standard. I left the office without asking about it.

Later that night, DH called me from out of town and I told him they want him to come in too and he was really surprised. He said he'd never heard of this before and he's been going steadily to this doctor for the past 15 years. Has this happened to anyone else? I'd call them and ask about it, but they are closed on Fridays so I couldn't. I am trying not to worry about it, but I wonder what they are going to tell me??

I would not worry about it...I have been going to a Chiroparcter for over 20 years and a couple of times he wanted my DH to come in so he could explaine why I should not lift things or explain to him about taking it easy while I improve...he felt at the time not knowing my DH that if it came from him than he would listen better than if it came from me...

Have been his pt know for 15 years and has no need to do that anymore cause he realizes that DH gets it...Dont worry ...alot of dr's like to go over xrays with both present...

he should have an emergency # or leave a message with your concerns and sure he will get back with you right away to ease your mind...let me know how it goes...

DH said it is standard practice. Most likely he just wants to show your husband what is wrong and talk about how he is going to fix it and maybe go over the treatment plan. DH says he does this all of the time. My Moms Chiro also does it.

My Dh never went to any appts with me when I started going for my back and such:confused3
