I am a HUGE Chipotle fan! It works like a Subway but for Mexican food.
You have a choice of tacos (hard or soft), burritos, salads, or burrito bowls (same as a burrito but no tortilla). The deal with pricing is it is based on the meat not the type of food.
There are several "meat" choices. Steak, Chicken, Pork (Carnitas), Shredded beef (Barbacoa), or Vegetarian (Black beans and guac)
The cheapest is VEGETARIAN and the most expensive is STEAK. The prices vary with the area of the country, but you're looking at around $7 for an entree.
IMO the best value is the hard tacos, ESPECIALLY when the place is new. The employees don't quite know how to fill the shells and you end up with extras of everything when it spills out of the shells. They can't go back in and remove what fell from the spoon. The shells don't stay hard for long, but I don't so much mind that.
Here's how you go down the line:
1: Choose your vessel and your meat, for here or to go (e.g. Steak burrito bowl to go)
2: Rice (brown or white, with cilantro and lime!)
3: Beans (Vegetarian black beans OR pinto with bacon. You can ask for both if you like)
4: Fajita vegetables (This is a simple yes or no. Mix of bell peppers and onions, sauteed. I usually look to see if they look appetizing and if they do, I get them!)
5: Meat (Unless you chose veggie, then wait until the end for the guac)
6: Salsa (4 choices: Corn, tomato, green, and really spicy red. That is in order from least to most spicy. FYI: I love spicy food and the red salsa is QUITE hot, even for me!)
7: Sour cream and Cheese
8: Guac (Unless you got veggie, guac is extra. Something like $2 for that.)
9: Lettuce
10: The register. You can add soft drinks, bottled drinks, and chips (with salsa or guac if you like).
IF YOU WANT TO TRY SOMETHING BEFORE YOU GET IT THE FIRST TIME just ask

They are very good about tasting. Also, there will be a day before they open when they give out free burritos because they are training their staff. It is a long wait, but it's free!
