Chip'n Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long:

Hello All .. does anypne know if you need to make reservations for Chip'n Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long? Does it get crowded?

If it's the one at Fort Wilderness Campground, you did not need a reservation as of 2000. It's very informal and we had a good time. Chip & Dale goofed around w/us and our video camera. In fact, one of them took off with our friend who was with us. She was an exchange student from Eastern Europe and could not stop laughing.

We took extra $$s for smores and it was cute, cute, cute.

No reservations for the FW campfire with Chip and Dale. It is in an open-air theater with log benches with backs and open bleachers. I've seen it busy but never totally full. We like to get there early enough to get a log bench. They have a place to get smores kits and pizza, hot dogs, etc. but the line is often long. The Meadow's Trading Post--just over the bridge from the campfire program--sells the things needed for smores except the sticks (which are sold at the snack bar).

We always take our own snacks and drinks--don't forget the chocolate chip cookies for Chip!

Yes, you can go to it no matter where you are staying. We took our boys 5 & 4 and they had a great time. We bought the smore kit that they sold there but saw many families that brought their own stuff.

Kids had a blast roasting and then watching the movie. Though it was June it was a bit cool at night. We didn't bring any blankets but saw a couple of families that did and wish we had.

What time does this usually start? What comes in the smores kit?

I don't remember the time. I would suggest calling the Wilderness lodge to find out. I do remember seeing posted at the campfire a movie schedule also.

The kit consisted of a stick, marshmallows, hershey chocolate bar and graham crackers...everything you need!

The campfire program is open to all WDW resort guests. It generally begins around 7 p.m. during the fall/winter season and 8 p.m. after the time changes in April through the summer. It is held near the Meadow Trading Post in the campfire area. The program begins with a sing-along led by a Disney CM and a marshmallow roast around two campfire rings. You may bring your own marshmallows or buy them at the Chuckwagon (roasting sticks and marshmallows are $2). You may also buy pizza, hot dogs, candy, nachos, juice, popcorn, sodas, coffee, beer and other refreshments at the Chuckwagon. While this is going on, Chip and Dale make an appearance to visit with guests and sign autographs. The sing-along lasts about 40 minutes. Next, one or two Disney animated features, depending upon the season, are shown on a large outdoor screen. Seating is available in bleachers or on benches. There is also plenty of room to lay out a quilt or blanket. The movie schedule is posted at all comfort stations. In the event of rain, the sing-along is still held on the porch of the Meadow Trading Post.

The movie list is posted on the Dis camping board as soon as someone gets it.

We did this in Feburary and had a great time and will be doing it again.

We got the smores kit...I think for $5...it had two roasting sticks and a enough smore supplies to make two smores for each of us (a family of 4) and ton of left over marshmellows just for roasting left.
