We have reservations for HDDR on Friday Aug 13 (our last night there) for the 5:00 show. From there how do we get to the campfire and sing-a-long? Can we walk or do we need to take the bus? Where do we get the bus? Is there a schedule as to what movie will be playing that night? We have never done either and thought this might be a great way to end of magical vacation!!! We go every summer and are trying new things this year and just having a relaxing vacation and not rushing around!

Thanks in advance for any info, advice, input, etc! =)

You didn't say whether you were staying at the FORT or not. It would be much easier to use the buses instead of walking. You want to take the Orange or Yellow bus and get off at the Meadows Pool/Trading post stop. The Campfire is right near the pool. When you come out of HDDR go to the right to that bus stop.

The movie schedule is normally listed at the top of this BOARD and should hopefully be there by tomorrow or Monday.

We have gone to the campfire sing a long and our family really enjoyed it :)
My kids (8,6,4) at the time walked it, it was a nice walk, they enjoyed waving at some of the campers, catching baby frogs and catching lizards. It might be a nice walk after a full meal like the one you get at the HDDR, plus all that sitting, then sitting again for a movie, the whole experience at the campfire is about 2 1/2 hrs, that's a lot of sittin' around, maybe something you'll want that after a full vacation at the parks? Just my 2cents :) have a fun vacation!!!

Also bring your bug spray!!!!!!!!!

It will be a little tight timing-wise. If memory serves, HDDR is right at 2 hours long so you might miss the first part of the Campfire (where they introduce C&D). C&D each greet one-half of the crowd working along the rows front to back so if you get there after they start go to the rear to meet one of them.

It's a nice walk but given the time contraints I would recommend taking an internal Fort bus. The campfire area is near the Meadow Trading Post/pool area - if you don't know which line or stop just ask your bus driver before you get on. They have busses lined up to carry people when the HDDR lets out so you should be able to get on one right away.

Enjoy!
