Chip 'n' Dale Critter Breakfast ~ do we want the buffet?

We ordered off the menu because it just wasn't cost effective for us--we just don't eat that much!

The denver omelette we had was the best we ever had. And Mickey waffles--well, what can one say? Probably just the omelette would have been enough for the two of us.

As long as you're there before 11:30 am (when they stop serving off the menu), it's up to you and what you want! There isn't THAT big a $$ difference between an adult's menu dish and the buffet, but if what you want is, say, the huevos rancheros not the buffet, then just order that! :)

There are both menus on the GCH section of the dlresortinfo website. The regular menu is listed as 'casual' dining, rather than the character meal section for GCH, but you still get characters!

Four Words:

Banana Stuffed French Toast!

oh, and my dh thought the huevos rancheros were excellent. Order off the menu, you get more than enough food and save a few bucks.

ok--have to try the huevos rancheros next time then!

Thanks! Would they let me order off the kid's menu? Or maybe the 3 of us will share 1 adult meal. :rolleyes1

I am really torn between this breakfast and the Lilo and Stitch one over at PP. :headache:

Well, I guess we could just do them both - on seperate days obviously!

We love the buffet at Storyteller's. I have never ordered from the menu.

We LOVE the Lilo and Stitch breakfast!! It was so much fun, we did it twice. :lmao: The second time we went was the day after Christmas, and it was so dead we almost had the character's to ourselves! SO much fun!!

You can order a side of toast (or bacon if desired) and split a plate. That's what we did the first time we went as DD just wanted 1 slice of toast. Dh and I split the eggs benedict and the rest of the toast. We aren't big breakfast eaters and that was perfect.

One note of caution about ordering off the menu: We're no big breakfast eaters, either, and thought it would be more cost effective to order off the menu.

DS7 just wanted a bowl of cereal, so they brought out a big bowl and spoon, and one of those tiny travel-size boxes of Frosted Flakes. Well, that didn't fill him, he wanted another. When the bill came, we'd been charged $16 for the two. That's roughly the cost of the buffet for him, so I was kicking myself over that one.

The buffet food was really good - nothing tasted like it sat out too long like some buffets. I even liked the breakfast sausage which I usually hate.

Why not take a look at the buffet when you get there and then make a decision.

My friends and I were just at Storytellers in December, and, having ordered the buffet there once in the past, I decided I was not that hungry and would order a regular breakfast (the All-American)....which cost me $20, and was just a regular breakfast, nothing special. It was no more bountiful than a Denny's Grand Slam! I would have rather gone for the buffet and paid an extra $9 or whatever and gotten exactly the right portions of exactly the right items I wanted. I won't do a regular off-the-menu breakfast there again unless someone is treating me.

When we go here we always do the buffet and i'd have to say it's my favorite out of the others (food wise)

Depends on your eating habits. If you will just get an omlette then its probably cheaper to order off the menu. But I always get the buffet since for me its about variety. I like to have several different things, in smaller portions. And then also my daughter can eat enough fruit for 5 people, no fruit plate off a menu could be enough for her! Also, they will make a specialty omlette on the buffet, I asked for an egg white one and they made it no problem, my son asked for fried eggs and again, no problem. So if you want something special, they are happy to do it. Often, by the time you order a beverage etc., sometimes it doesn't save as much as you think. For example I always get juice and ice tea and they are both included in my buffet price. Also, I like to get a small bowl of oatmeal, an eggwhite omlette and a bunch of fruit with my two beverages. If I did that a la carte, I'd be spending way more. But for some people its the exact opposite. I agree, look at the buffet then decide, you might want to sample a few different things once you see what they have.
