Has anyone been to Chip & Dale's Campfire at Fort Wilderness. Is it worth making a special trip to see. Will be at WDW in February with short park hours. Any feedback would be appreciated.:cool1:

We go almost every trip - campfire followed by classic movie. We usually go on a night with a classic movie as opposed to a modern one.

It has a lot of selling points, being free, fun, a movie, and - s'mores! :cloud9:

We went to the campfire right after the first show of Hoo Dee Doo Revue. Chip and Dale are two of my DD's favorites. We had the added bonus of going in December when a lot of campers have holiday displays up.

Unless you have a car (and even if you do), the best way to get there is by direct boat from MK to Fort Wilderness and then walking down. You can take the internal bus from the dock if you have had enough walking for the day.

I'm going Jan 19-25 where can I get a list of show times and movie listings?
Thanks :flower3:

We went the Wed night before Thanksgiving. We took the boat to FW from MK then a bus from the HDDR area. It was a nice break from the crowds. We had just eaten at 'Ohana, so no s'mores for us! But we enjoyed the singalong and meeting Chip and Dale. The movie that night was Robinhood, and the kids weren't really interested, but they still say they want to go back next trip. It refreshed us enough to head back to MK after the movie and stay until midnight closing. On the boat ride back we were able to see the water pageant, which was really nice.

****We did leave the movie a little early and were 2nd in line for the boat. It took awhile. By the time it got there the line was way back on the shore-about 3 boatloads of people! So if you stay until the end don't be in a hurry to get back to MK!

Our all-adult group went for old times sake last time we stayed at the campground. One thing I noticed was so many small children having THE BEST time. Like...more fun than they have in the parks! They were free to run around, scream, play in the sand/gravel mix, get dirty, roast smores, yell at Chip and Dale, sing along with the songs all in the relative cool of the evening. Nobody was cranky or hot.

I think when I have kids I'm going to save a bunch of money and just take them to the Sing-A-Long instead of buying park tickets! ;)

Thanks for sharing! I may have to venture out for my next trip!!:yay:
