I tried to get into the thread in the FAQ area but it keeps freezing the explorer screen.

Can anyone tell me what time the chip and dale fire is and if the movie follows how long it usually takes. We are staying at POP so I have to figure out how to get back.

If we take a taxi how much is it likely to cost?

First of all, I wouldn't take a tax from POP. Try doing it on a day you are at MK and take the boat over. I couldn't find the schedule, but if you email Disney they can tell you, Starts at 8 p.m. We have done this before and it's so much fun!!

I just saw that the movie sched is posted at the beginning of every month. They are usually Disney animated movies, so those only run abut 90 min. Before hand Chip n'Dale come out and sing and you can roast marshmallows! Lots of fun!!

I took my kids this summer we misse Chip and Dale but made it for the movie they loved it. We got to see Pinocchio. I called guest relations at the hotel i was also at POP they told me what time it started and what movie was playing.

Oh great - we are actually going to be at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa before we head over there.

Is there a place that tells about how to get from various places on disney transpo?

I was wondering the same thing, the easiest way to get there from All Stars MOvies? Also, how long should we plan on it taking to get there?

I should have asked also about the petting zoo, pony rides and wagon/carriage rides. What time does all of this stop? We are thinking we won't get over there until closer to 5pm. If things are not running then I will do something else and then go later.

Thanks again,
Helen

FW is kinda tucked away. The easiest would be by boat from MK, or take bus from TTC. All resorts have transporation to TTC then just hop bus, or if MK is still open take bus from MK, you don't need to go into the park to do this. This is from www.allearsnet.com

Disney implemented a color-coded bus system within the resort April 1, 2002. There are three internal buses running - Purple, Orange and Yellow -- which run between the Outpost Depot near the resort's entrance to the Settlement Depot, near the resort's marina. Guests use these buses to travel to points within the resort.

The Purple route travels between the two main depots through the Wilderness Cabins loops.

The Orange route travels straight through the middle of the resort along the Fort Wilderness Trail, past campsites and the Meadow Trading Post.

The Yellow route passes the 300, and 1400-1900 campsite loops, on the eastern side of the resort.

To get to the Magic Kingdom: Take a bus to the Settlement Depot, and transfer to a bus to the Transportation and Ticket Center, or walk to the marina to catch a launch (with the green flag) to the Magic Kingdom.

To get to Disney-MGM Studios: Take a bus to the Settlement Depot, then transfer to a bus to Disney-MGM Studios.

To get to Epcot, Animal Kingdom/Blizzard Beach, or Typhoon Lagoon/Downtown Disney: Take a bus to the Outpost Depot, then catch a bus to Epcot, Animal Kingdom/Blizzard Beach, or Typhoon Lagoon/Downtown Disney.

To get to the Contemporary or Wilderness Lodge Resorts: Take a bus to the Settlement Depot, and walk to the marina to catch a launch (blue flag).

To get to the Polynesian or the Grand Floridian Resorts: Take a bus to the Settlement Depot, walk to the marina to catch a launch to the MK, then take the monorail; or transfer to a bus to the Transportation and Ticket Center, then transfer to the monorail to the resort.

To get to Epcot Area Resorts:Take a bus to the Outpost Depot, then catch a bus to Epcot and either take a Friendship or walk; or take the bus to Downtown Disney and transfer. Alternatively, take a bus to the Settlement Depot, then transfer to a bus to Disney-MGM Studios. From there take a Friendship or walk to the Epcot Resort area.

To get to All Other Resorts: Take a bus to the Outpost Depot, then catch a bus to Typhoon Lagoon/Downtown Disney. Transfer to a bus for the final destination.

To get anywhere quickly, if you don't have a car, take a Yellow Cab (407) 699-9999. It will pick you up at the Reception Outpost.

Inside FW, automobiles are prohibited except when entering or leaving the resort; therefore, you can walk, ride bikes or golf carts, or use the bus system. Be sure to look at the Bus Routes posted at each bus stop, to determine where you are and where you want to go. There are numerous covered bus stops throughout FW. You may request to be near a bus stop when they make their reservations. Waits for buses are usually no more than 10-15 minutes but can be more, especially at night after a Hoop-Dee-Doo show lets out.

Some other things to do (also from allearsnet.com

Private carriage rides - Cost $30/half-hour. Call (407) 824-2832 to reserve (reservations suggested, not required). Depart from Crockett's Tavern at Pioneer Hall between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. nightly. There are two carriages available; one accommodates four adults and two children, the other accommodates two adults and two children.

Petting farm featuring goats, pot belly pig, donkey, ducks, sheep, and chickens. This used to be Minnie Moo's home until she passed away.

Pony rides from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Cost $3

Electrical Water Pageant - nightly at 9:45 p.m. at the FW beach and marina

Our girls LOVE the Chip N Dale Campfire Sing-A-Long!!! Heck, WE LOVE IT!!! As stated earlier, the movie is generally an animated film and is shown just after dark. Prior to that you can purchase a S'more making kit in the General Store and roast some marshmallows and sing a long with the awesome CM's that run the show there, with Chip N Dale dancing and prancing along! Word of advice though, LEAVE EARLY to arrive there on time! The Fort Wilderness Resort has its own series of buses that you have to navigate upon arrival. The first time my gang headed out we missed Chip N Dale waiting on the Orange Bus or Purple Bus or whatever color it was! LOL So the next time my dh made sure we got there in plenty of time! Then we had to wait around, but my girls loved touring the place and video taping the grounds, etc. You will definitely enjoy the time you spend there! Its a ton of fun!!!

A few things to note on transportation:

Only those staying at Contemporary, Polynesian, or Grand Floridian will want to go to the TTC to get to the campfire. From the TTC, board the Fort Wilderness bus and let the driver know you need to get to the campfire. The Campfire stop is the 600/800 loop stop.

From all other resorts, take the bus to the Magic Kingdom, and catch the boat to Fort Wilderness. Once on the bus to Fort Wilderness, catch the Outpost Orange bus to the 600/800 loop. Buses run every 12 minutes, and it's a 3 minute ride.

To get back to your resort, you will have a few options. If the MK is still open, catch the Settlement Orange bus to the Settlement, the boat to MK, and then the bus back to your resort.

After the MK closes, you will have to use Downtown Disney as your transfer point. Board the bus marked Outpost Orange, and transfer to the DTD bus at the Outpost.

Thanks everyone - I don't know how we are going to make out not getting lost or being late for something. I sure hope we are quick studies!

After the movie the kids might be really tired - would a taxi be way too expensive from FW to POP?

Tyler,

Maybe not your area of expertise, but do you know how late the boats run back to the WL? We're interested in this as well. Also, is it walkable from the marina or would we still board the orange bus to the 6-800 loop?

Thanks for your help.

In regards to walking distance... it depends on what walking distance is. Me personally, I've walked it before... it's not far to me. But then again, others think the walk from the 80's section at Pop to the main building is far, and that's 1/4 of the distance.

Boats will run back to WL till about 9:45-10:00 or so...

However... the Settlement Orange bus that you will board will actually continue onto the Wilderness Lodge, so you might as well just stay on board.

The bus runs TTC -> WL -> Settlement -> Orange route -> Outpost -> Orange route -> Settlement -> WL -> TTC every 12 minutes from 7am-2am daily.

Would you have enough time to get to the campfire movie after the 5p HDDR??? Has anyone else done this? Or, would it be to much to do in one night? :Pinkbounc Thanks for input!

It's definetly possible. You'll get out of the Hoop a little before 7, I think... and the campfire is at 8. They're only a 2 minute (tops) bus ride apart.

Sorry to be dense, but can we take a boat from WL to the campfire and back?
Sure is. But you would be better off just taking the bus, as it takes you directly to the campfire. If you take the boat, you would then take the very same bus the rest of the way.
