I'm fairly certain that the USA doesn't have this technology yet. Is it best to bring cash as all our cards are chip cards! Do the work in their machines??
You can still use your debit/credit cards without the chip - you just swipe it like you used to before hand and either enter your pin for your debit or sign for your credit - we have noticed a lack of chip readers on our visits but it has never stopped us from using our cards.
The only issue is fees - so I did use cash a lot for small purchases as I would rather just pay the exchange fees once. Also another idea is to buy gift cards for Disney that can be used throughout the parks.
Perhaps call your bank and see what they have to say - as we have used our credit and debit cards in California and Montana without ever having a problem - and both of them have a chip - so I would call your bank and ask if there is a known issue with your cards. We deal with Scotia and Royal Bank - so I am not sure if there are other banks or credit unions that have issues.
I've always been able to use credit card, but Debit was another story, until Cibc got the new debit cards. Now they work in retail stores. You just have to choose Visa, but it still works like a debit. The new Cibc debit cards have the Visa logo on them and work anywhere Visa is accepted.

Chip cards work in the US in the same way they work here at retailers that don't have chip technology yet.... We've had no issues in the US and have chip cards for 5 years give or take.... can't remember now when they started to be used here.
