Wednesday 30th March
We are up at 9am to pack, well I pack and I send DH to starbucks for some breakfast, but packing makes me hungry so I start on the wedding cake, its really yummy. I'm not happy as I can't find my sunglasses anywhere. We grab a taxi to the airport and its much quicker than on the way in. We get checked in really quickly and take a seat to read for a while then grab a burger king for lunch. We head to the gate to wait, there is no assigned seating but we have a number and board in order. We are able to get seats together. They give out free soft drinks and nuts. I have a snooze so it seems like no time till we are landing. We are lucky that we flew today as it was only a couple of days later that southwest airlines grounded all their planes when the roof came off mid flight. These photos show how close the strip is to the airport.
We get the Bart train into town from the airport and then walk to our hotel, its a bit further than I thought though and its boiling hot plus DH is still suffering with his cold. We get a very warm welcome though and our room is nice if not huge. After freshing up we use the free internet so DH can check his e-mail to see if there is anything about his new job and then attend the free wine reception in the hotel lobby.
