How exactly does this work? We used it in Japan, but I think it's slightly different in the US parks. Besides, I don't think we were doing it right in Tokyo either, they just let us go :rotfl2:

My main question is how do we do it with two kids big enough to go on, and one kid NOT. Can one of us take the big boys first and then use the swap to take them on again or does one of us have to go solo? Would be kind boring for one of us to go by ourselves :(

Usually the kids can go again if they want to. Just ask the CM standing at the beginning of the queue, they'll either tell you to line up like normal, and then tell one of the loading CM's that you want to use child swap, or they'll give you a card - similar to a fast pass or single rider card and you use that to jump the queue

I think it depends on the ride vehicle - but you may risk upsetting the rest of the queue if two kids get off and ride again -

I think one parent should ride with one kid - while the other stays with the little one and the other older child.

I dont know whether you all queue together - *** that could be really mean to make a 4 year old line up for a ride hes not going to be able to get on. :confused3

We were in that position a couple of times at Disney and quite a few times at the Universal parks. Disney is heaps better then Universal because, unlike Universal (who make the too-short child wait the whole time in the queue with the family), Disney lets you take a Child Swap pass at the beginning of the queue. So DH and the two older children go into the ride queue and I take DD3 off to do something else while they wait and then ride. After they come off, I take the Child Swap pass plus supposedly one child (but they always let me take the old two on again) and we go up the Fastpass queue and ride. So the older two were very lucky as they always got two rides - one with DH and one with me. :thumbsup2

At california screaming, my dh went with the three kids and got the child swap ticket as he went in. I waited outside with the little one and then dh came back gave me the ticket and I took one child back on with me through the fastpass line.

At splash mountain one decided not to go at the last minute so me and that child stepped through and waited at the other side of the loading dock, then when they came back they got out and I took one with me and went on.

At WDW, the childswap pass allows you to take in 2 other people in with you (child or adult). At Disneyland, I believe it is only 1 other person.

At both, usually you go up to the CM at the start of the queue, tell them you want a child swap. The CM will then give you the pass. The first group then goes through. The waiting adult and child do not have to wait in line with the first group at all. The second group using the childswap goes through the fast pass line. The beauty of the child swap is that you can use it at any time as there is no time attached to it.

mmm - might find a well behaved two year old to take along next time!

It's a great idea! We used it at Mission Space, you just ask for the ticket before entering the line from the CM. So while my partner went on the ride, I took baby girl to play in the playground (and make cool little video postcards) and once he was done I was able to enjoy the ride :)

Oh Snickels, are you doing a trip report for us or have you already done one that I've missed? :confused3

Thanks everybody - it's all much clearer now. Poor DS3 though. I think he's going to miss out on the biggest rides by just an inch or two - and he's shaping up to be the daredevil of the family :(

Ummm...I did set a blog up but got too distracted each day so never got around to writing on it lol Maybe one day I'll go back and do one... :)
