Wow, this is a monumental post for me...my first as a grandfather:goodvibes Actually, I've been one for three years, but it's now official that our DD, DSIL, 3-yr-old DGD, and 1-yr-old DGS, will be joining us for our upcoming POFQ trip:yay:

My first question...our daughter saw a Disney show on TV in which she thought she heard that kids' bed gurads (the soft, fabric kind) were "available" at the resorts. Right or wrong?

If wrong, would the best way to get them (since we're flying) be at a nearby Wal-Mart?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know about resort crib rails, but I bought the soft bed rails at One Step Ahead. They have to be blown up ( I have the pump), but they fold really small.

Yes all the WDW resorts offer bedrails and pack and play cribs at no charge just call housekeeping when you get to your room. The PnP was always very clean or brand new and the bedrails were lightly used at best as well.

If you need other baby equipment or a full size crib you can rent from an offsite rental company. My sil used a baby's best friend abbf.com and had two great experiences with them. The website shows all the things they rent and the prices.

All very helpful advice. I'm sure there will be more questions...thanks:thumbsup2

A side note from a mom who has used the rails provided by Disney (we were at Pop Century)...they are SHORT! I'm used to the rails that we have at home for my girls that cover 2/3 of the side of the bed. The ones that Pop had didn't even cover 1/2 of the bed. We actually had them bring DOUBLE so that we could cover the better part of the side of the bed.

With active sleepers, this just made me waaaay more comfortable.

Also, another thought...when we were at the Dolphin, the beds moved, so we just slid the bed against the wall. Not sure if any of the actual Disney resorts have movable beds, though....

I didn't know that they were available at the resorts. I also bought the one from One Step Ahead.

One more thing, order your bed rails from housekeeping AS SOON AS YOU GET TO THE ROOM! We've ordered them several times and different resorts and most of the time we got them within 1/2 an hour. But twice, we went to the parks after making the call to housekeeping, and we got back late and found that they never brought them. At that point, it would take over an hour to get them because there are less housekeeping people around, and the kids just want to sleep (and so do you).

We asked at check in when we got to POR and had them delievered to our room within an hour. I think maybe we were one of the lucky ones as our bed rails were HUGE, they covered 2/3 of the bed, alot bigger than the one we use at home! Tell your daughter not to worry, Disney has everything :thumbsup2
Have a good trip :goodvibes

We were just at Pop the first week of June this year and the bedrail we received for use for my DD went 2/3 the length of the bed....it was much longer than the one I use for her at home. Maybe they've changed which bedrails they use? Just ask for them when you check in and housekeeping will bring them up to your room for you (they had ours to our room in about 20 minutes).

This is good news, since we'll be back in Sept this year!! THANKS! :thumbsup2

Another idea, which is what I would do if we were in your DD´s place, would be to request a King size bed and then rent a full size crib and a toddler bed from www.abbf.com . We only have one dd, but we used to rent a toddler bed for her so we could have a King bed and more free space in the room for the stroller, etc.

We stayed at the GF last year and I requested a crib and got a full size crib, not a pack and play. Maybe it depends on what they have available.
