Children's Tax Credit

Did anyone else claim for the year 2002/3? It was flagged up on the boards a while ago and you had to apply by a certain date - as there was a tight deadline. Well my MIL nagged me to apply and I saw it on here and thought, Oh, I might as well. I cut it really fine, posting it off just before the deadline and not really expecting anything. I got the letter today, and guess what? I got....

This sort of thing never happens to me - I'm usually getting bills of this size, not cheques! I haven't decided what to spend it on yet because I'm waiting for the money to arrive first.
Did anyone else get anything?

We got one too - DH phoned them up, though, because we'd been told that because of when DS was born (within that tax year) there should have been an additional amount due - 10 days later another chq for £600. First lot went towards the holiday - second lot is paying off our new sofa

Brilliant news. We also got a cheque but unfortunately for £7. Apparently DH had paid too much tax that year.

I was soo excited when I seen the cheque as well

I looked into it but my DH had already had the allowance on his tax code.

I had to send my letter recorded and it arrived on the cut off date.

£607.00 baby !!

going to pay park tickets and a new camera for october trip.

posted off our form, even helped a lady at work complete theirs, she got a letter last week but we have not heard anything yet, will may be give them a ring

My cheque arrived today.

Now, what do I spend it on?
My choices are:

£100 on 'treats' and £500 towards our 'Once-in-a-lifetime' WDW trip 2012

or

£600 on a trip to DLRP in January 2010.

Whatever I spend it on, it's going to be for fun and nothing practical!
