I want to get some CROCS for my nephew to wear at WDW in 18+ months or whenever my ticker says. Anyway, right now he is 4½ and wearing a size 12.
He has gone from a size 10 to a 12 this year. I am trying to figure out what size CROCS he might wear in little over a year from now. What do think?

I would wait until you get closer to the date. That way there is no frustration when the size you buy is too small when the time comes. His growing feet may slow down, or speed up, you never know.

Unless you are getting a really good deal, then I would wait.

Our Liquidation World has Gekkos on for $2.99, I bought my niece (5yrs) two pairs and bought size 13 and 1. I think that they will fit this summer, but at that price I won't be upset if one or both don't. I guessed the size by another child who is a little over a year older than her, and that was the size she was wearing this last summer.

I know that typically they say a child goes up 1/2 a size every 6 months....

My DS (turning 5 in Feb) wears a 9.5 right now and has for the last year. He wore a 9 for the entire year before that. I keep waiting for his feet to have a growth spurt, but it hasn't happened.

I won't buy shoes much ahead of time other than to buy larger pairs of his favorite seasonless ones as they are just so unpredictable.

My DS turns 3 in March and is a big kid! He is currently in an 11. He goes up about 1/2 size every 3 months. I get him fitted for his shoes because I honestly would not know how to fit him. I have not bought him shoes in advance yet because his feet grow so fast and he has already skipped sizes. We keep waiting for it to slow down, but not yet!

My ds is 4yrs. and wears an 11.5 in tennis shoes. I ordered him the Mickey Crocs in the C12/13 and he has tons of room. Our trip is in June though, so I guess he may grow a bit and actually he loves them and says they are comfy. He can run around in them and they stay on! Anyway my post didn't exactly help with your question, but maybe that gives you an idea of how they run in regards to sizing!

Honestly, I would never buy shoes ahead of time, especially that far ahead of time. For example.....one day my DS's shoes fit easily (this was when he was around 2 years old BTW), the very next morning I could not put the shoes on because they were too small. I had to take him to the store in just his socks to buy new shoes that day....and they were a full size bigger! Too unpredictable! LOL Of course, this child is now 10 years old and wears a men's size 10 shoe & growing. My DD has been close to the same way.....and now at age 6 wears a size 3 shoe (next time will have to buy women's size 5!).

I wouldn't buy shoes 18 months in advance unless you're willing to let him wear them before hand or have them too big when you get there. Shoe size is too hard to predict.

DS#1 was wearing a size 2 for about a year - he was 8/9. One day he says mom my shoes won't go on. When I took him to the store to be measured he was in a 4.5! He jumped 2.5 sizes. Stayed in this size for about 6 months, then in a 5 for about 6 months then blasted right past 5.5 and 6 to 6.5.

DS #3 (6) on the other hand has been wearing size 12 for about a year and wore size 11 for a year. When he was 4 I bought some 13 sandals on clearance for him to wear the next year - they're still in the closet with the tags on!:goodvibes

Thanks for the replies. I found a pair of Mickey crocs for 12 dollars in a size 2/4 it says 2M/4W. I am hoping that they will just fit or be a little big when we go. I have no problem letting him wear them prior to going if he needs them. I want the Crocs mostly for water activities and tennis shoes for the parks. I want to order a pair for myself and was going to get him a 2nd pair since they are on marked down right now. Idealy I want them for the trip but if he can use them sooner that is fine too. I just don't want him to get blisters like he did with the Walmart ones that I got for camping a couple years ago that fit but rubbed where the button were the attached the strap. Now that he is older I am hoping that he will tell me how they feel sooner.
