I wanted to thank all of you dissers who helped me with pricing/suggetions, etc. for the children's sale we are doing in Westchester County. I was having trouble finding a place that was reasonable enough to rent, and wouldn't break the bank in terms of what we needed to charge our sellers. Thanks to your suggestions, we booked a local firehouse! The one thing I couldn't "solve" and would need to research more next time was the event insurance. That was $180 for the event. We were able to get the cost down to $35 per selling family. Originally we were looking at at least $43-45. Any little bit helps, right?

Now, our new questions...
Do you think people at a children's sale would buy water/bags of chips? We are thinking of selling those to pay for a tip to the firehouse. I am thinking of getting the big packs of individual bags at BJS and selling those. What would you charge for water? for chips?

We are doing the sale tomorrow, Sat. March 20th, Yorktown Heights Firehouse 9am-1:30pm, so if you can let me know your thoughts on the water/chips today, it would be great!!!!!

Thanks again for your help!!!!!!!

I think selling water and chips is a good idea, chances are people will bring their kids there and need to occupy them while they shop :)
I wish I could come, but my dd has softball practice for like 4 hours tomorrow :scared1:

Definitely do water/juice boxes and a snacky thing of some kind!

$1 for a bottle of water would be fine for me if it was 20oz size or similar. For the little water pods, mini bottles, maybe $.50. And $.50 per juice box.

And I'd try to choose 2 snacks. My first choice wouldn't be chips if there will be alot of kids there. Maybe granola or Nutri grain type bars and some little bags of Famous Amos cookies? I think you could charge $1 each.

Thanks for the suggestions and pricing help! We are definitely doing water and snacks and will add juice boxes per the suggestions. MUCH appreciated!
