Hiya,

We're looking at doing a big trip out to Florida with the whole family (about 10 adults and my (hopefully!) two children. My son will have just turned 3 when we go. My infant isn't conceived yet, but we're planning on them being about 2 months old (I must be crazy!! hahaha)

Anyway, I've just seen that the disney tickets for children start from age 3. Does anyone know whether I would get away with saying he was younger (he is small for his age!) or if WDW do a 'kids play free' deal at all like they do in DLP?

Thanks for your help!!

Although we can offer advice on which ticket would suit your child, and which tickets are available, we would be unable to advocate anybody suggesting that you say your child is one age when in reality he is another.

All the theme parks charge from age 3 so you will need to buy a ticket. I personally believe it is fair as our 2 year old went on mote attractions than my DH parents & grandparents nd they had to pay full adult prices!

The CMs working the gate have also been known to ask the child their age if they are suspicious - and they realise children come in all sizes!

WDW does offer various deals at different times if you stay in one of their hotels. The most common offer if you book through Disney UK (or UK travel agents) is free dining.

You can book through Disney US and they have a bigger variety of offers but usually they come out later ( ie closer to travel dates) and they include % off rooms and they have kids play free deal but for you it wouldn't save much. Booking through the US would mean you would be paying in $ too.

Yes aged 3 must have a ticket.

We took DD aged 23 months. She is very tall and at MVMCP the cm queried why she didn't have a ticket - I explained her age and cm didn't want to see proof but I imagine they are very alert to people trying to pull a fast one.

What time of year are you thinking of travelling - summer with a very young baby would be very hard I imagine as they would need to be kept in the shade.

Thanks for the advice. Kinda confirmed what I already expected! Might mean we have to give disney a miss though as £200 kinda breaks my budget.

We're hoping to do next May, and would be staying off site in a Villa. I'm not too worried about taking a new baby as floridians must have children all year round, and we'd have to be vigilent either way.

Depending on how many days you want to visit the Disney parks there are cheaper options for tickets.

If you let us know how many days you think you will be visiting the parks and we can give you some prices/options.:goodvibes

EDIT: For a little bit more than the £264 that you were going to spend on 14 Ultimates (I assumed thats what you were looking at) you can get 2 adult 7 day MYW base tickets and 1 child 7 day MYW base ticket and these would be around £478 (at an exchange rate of $1.5) from Undercovertourist.com. These tickets are valid for one park per day and give entry to the 4 main parks and expire 14 days after first use.

Thanks Elise - that's really useful to know!! :)

I'm not really sure - it's been quite a long time since I was last in Florida, and it will be different going with children.
I think we'd probably spend 1 day in Magic Kingdom and 1 at Epcot. I'm also keen on seeing what Animal kingdom is like as it wasn't there last time I was at disney! (I'm showing my age now! hahah)

I think we'd probably want to go to Islands of Adventure (for Harry Potter) and Sea World as well, though I know they come under different ticket packages (wouldn't it be useful for there to be 1 ticket for ALL the theme parks in Orlando?!)

Just out of interest, are the tickets person-specific? Could I, for example, go half on a 14-day ticket with my step-brother and his wife, and go into the parks on different days?
