Why is it, restaurants seem to think that children will only eat mac n' cheese or chicken nuggets? This is nearly every restaurant we have ever tried to go to since the kids were born.
I have a 9 year old and a 5 year old girls. I see a kid's steak at Le Cellier or whatever that is (I"m new to the Disney thing with our first trip next summer.) Everything else is mac n' cheese, chicken nuggets, or some other worthless unhealthy food that would go to waste.
My kids don't eat a lot, but they eat normal food. We have a sit down meal every night whether my wife is working or home to cook it. Mac n' cheese or chicken nuggets are fine for a quick lunch, but they eat normal food for dinner.
Would there be any concern with them eating normal entrees in the restaurants or would we be required to order from the kids menu?
I started out looking at this Disney stuff completely overwhelmed, but figured out the parks, resorts, and majority of the vacation plan rather quickly. I'm stuck on the dining part though, because our kids are not going to come close to eating a half BBQ chicken, but wouldn't eat anything from the kids menu either. Even the 5 year old wouldn't eat chicken nuggets, although she does love them for lunch.
I look upon the kids menu as food for 3 year olds or younger. Why can't restaurants have some kind of menu for between the ages of 3 and teen years where they would eat normal food, but not enormous amounts I am seeing on the photos here?
So my question is, are we going to be able to order normal entrees for children of those ages or will that be a problem? I don't know if the ages you state when you book is merely for the resort or if that changes the dining plan as well.
Thanks,

Thanks,
I've been working the past 15 years at the same place and this is my first non-working vacation too!
