Childrens Meals CS-Cheeseburgers Anywhere?

Back to my first complaint of the childrens meal selections for counter service. I've looked at many of the menus and basically find chicken nuggets, mac cheese, PBJ, chilled chicken??, or turkey pinwheels on most menus. Not a burger or dog to be found, not counting the dogs floating in beans at Pecos Bills. Are cheeseburgers on the menu anywhere? Even specialty rests, have these same boring items. Yorkshire Fish and chips doesn't even offer fish and chips for the kids. We'd love to go there, but the kids only have PBJ as a choice, and 3 of my 4 kids can't stand the smell of PB! Oh, this is going to be hard to find decent food in one stop. I have a feeling we are going to be paying out of pocket for a lot of CS meals for the kids, and have a lot left over at the end.
:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I agree with you totally and we had a difficult time with places to eat lunch at because of this last month. People are not going to like this but, and this might be difficult to do with 4 children but you and your husband can both get on line and order two adult meals each if your kids will eat what is on the adult menu. If WDW had a problem with this they would have figured out a way to make things standard by now but the DDP is subjective to the restaurant and the server/cashier. The most glaring of this is what beverages can be ordered at restaurants for TS and apparently what time of day and where you use your CS and snack credits.

The rules of the dining plan are very clear in the Dining Plan brochure: Child meal entitlements cannot be used for adult meals. Please also remember the rules of this forum:
Any questions regarding the use of the plan that are not answered specifically in the WDW Dining Brochure cannot be accurately answered on these boards and should be addressed to WDW Dining.

Bicker, please reply only to the question asked on my thread. I only asked where to get a cheeseburger on the child menus, not for you to relate the rules of the dining plan. :furious:

I would also love to know where to get a cheeseburger...... I can't believe that its not an option at peco's bills.....then again the kids cannot get pizza at pizzafari!!!!!

I was replying to the previous poster's message, not yours. Sorry for the confusion. I've fixed my message.

ITA with you. The CS choices for children are terrible. I think that we will probably end up paying OOP for some of our DD's meals, or else we'll just share.

I think that you may be able to get a hotdog at Casey's

Isn't it ridiculous? How about a grilled cheese...??? Those are non-existent in WDW!

When we were there a few weeks ago we'd get OUR adult CS meals and SHARE them. That is CLEARLY okay. If we all were still hungry then maybe we'd get another meal and SHARE that, too. We are all big burger fans, so this worked for us a couple of times.

We tried to go to CS places where the kids meals were good. But one day we all wanted a burger at Pecos Bill. My card said 2A2C. I asked the CM if we could all have burgers and she said that was fine. Also we didn't like the Peanut Butter brownie for dessert, so I asked for the kids applesauce instead.

Not sure about kid's burgers, but children can get a hot dog at Casey's. They don't have a specific children's menu, but kids can order hot dogs or corn dog nuggets there.

I'm pretty sure the kids can get a cheese burger at Resturantosaurus in Animal Kindom

I did the same thing at Pecos....I was staring at the menu and said, "Darn...my son really was wanting a burger" and she said it was fine for him to get a burger. :confused3 I thought it was really nice of her.

My dd's ate mac-n-cheese the entire trip. That seemed to be the only thing at CS for kids. I really hope they add some new choices to the kids meals.

I found a burger on the kids menu in EPCOT at the Tangerine Cafe in Morroco. It is one of my favorite CS restaurants. They also had pizza for the kids!

Wow. My DD didn't eat mac-n-cheese once, and we were on the dining plan, eating CS somewhere different every day. :confused3

I am faced with the same problem with kids meals. Someone else suggested on here to go ahead and get a kids meal for the side and drink that is included and then order a seperate entree. This way you can still get use of the credit, and it will make the extra order a bit easier on the wallet.

It will just be me and 1 "jr "and one "kid", so we will have 2A and 1C credit. DD 10 loves applesauce so she will probably eat that from her sister's kids meal, and they will share the carrots and Mickey crackers. We also might all enjoy having some mac and cheese to share a few bites of. The meals are usually pretty big, so we can share fries. If I have to pay OOP for a pizza or a burger or sandwich for my little one then I am not going to stress about it. Of course I am going during free dining. I am not sure I would feel quite so amicable if I were paying for the dining plan!

Also, if by chance Pecos Bill (or other Burger places) don't let the little on have a burger order yourself (or someone in the party) a double burger meal and then ask to purchase an extra bun. I have read this on the DIS (but not tried it personally) and it has been reported to be cheap and no problem. At places like Pecos Bill with an extensive toppings bar you will have plenty for 2.

I am glad to hear that she might be able to get a burger, dog, or pizza at a few places, even if it isn't on the kid's menu.

I believe the Disney rational behind the Kids Menus is that they only have one size of many things--like the burgers and pizza's. They don't want adults to just order the cheaper kids meal that would have a pizza and included drink (the same size as the adult pizza) for less cost than the Adult Pizza and seperate drink. Same with burgers. The kid's burger meal would be the same size as the adult entree (maybe less fries), and include the drink, typically at a cheaper price.

We returned from our trip August 31 while using the DP...(not free to us though)..

Anyway, I did a lot of research prior as I was also concerned with the
"burger issue at pecos bill" !! lol ! I learned on the trip not to take everything you read here as "gospel" and ask the cm and maybe you can be accomodated :) In a couple of instances I was surprised at what they were willing to do as we had 3 children on the DP.

Concerning Pecos bill , I was able to get 3 cheeseburgers for the kids ( allowed by the cm at the register ) I don't know if they were "tech" considered "adult" credits as they were the same meals DH and I had but the cm allowed this and I clearly was concerned with the whole "not using an adult credit for the children" thing as the DIS had me well trained in this aspect....( I'm not really a rule breaker )

I was also pleasantly surprised at a few cs places to be able to get bottled water as my beverage as I didn't expect that either. That off topic though.

Also , as I posted when I returned...at spoodles boardwalk pizza window, I was able to get a whole pizza, 6 slices, 6 HUGE brownies and 6 bottles of water for 6 cs credits with no differentiation ( sp?) between adult and child.

The bottom line....
I think sometimes it depends on who your server is or better yet at the cs
who you get at the register :)

Don't be afraid to ask for what you want..the worst that could happen is what you already expected anyway!

I totally agree.

When we went last Sept with the kids, in no way was I trying to 'work the system.' But at both Pecos Bills and I think it was Tusker House, my kids just were not wild about the child's options (or at least one kid was not). I asked at Tusker if it was OK if I just ordered 3 chicken sandwiches for us, and she said not a problem. At that point we were also 'desserted' out, so I said, "can I just skip the dessert?" and the CM said, "How about some grapes?" I said, "AWESOME! That would be perfect!"

I think everywhere else though, my kids liked the children's options and it was all good. :thumbsup2

Well, it's out of the way (unless you stay there), but Gasparilla Grill at GF has a kids' meal that includes two small burgers (I can't recall if there was cheese or not, though I'm sure you could ask -- they were always pretty accomodating). These were almost the size of regular fast food kids' meal burgers and definitely better quality. The meal was plenty for my kids to share, so they did on several occasions.
