Children's clothes sizes?

When we are at WDW in December I want to get a friend's little girl some clothes but am not sure if US sizes are the same as UK! I am looking for age 6 or 7 for girls.

Thanks Netty as she is a size 6/7 in the UK will go for a 6X or 7, better to be bigger than smaller!

My DS is 4 now and always buy at least 1 size bigger sometimes 2, *** I think there sizing is smaller

I find their sizes too small for our DS and he's small for his age so we buy stuff at least a couple of sizes larger and they fit him fine Sa Shoes too we have problems with he currently takes a size 1 so if we go to Premium Outlets I'll ask the assistant in Start Rite to measure his feet and get one size larger to allow room for growth his feet grow rapidly. Not sure what size he'll take next year
