I apologize if this question is repetitive-

Can my 2 boys (ages 6 & 3 at time of our trip) share an adult entree at a table service? We will NOT be on the dining plan and the child's menu is so limited, I see many things they would enjoy more on the "adult" menu plus I think it would be a better value for them to share a plate.
If it is allowed is there a shared plate charge? That may cancel out any value benefit . . .

Thanks for your help!

I think this is probably fine since you are not on the DDP. As two adults, my DH & I shared alot of meals on our last trip-both a signatures and at regular TS restaurants. Many restaurants actually split the meal into 2 separate plates for us. There was no shared plate charge.

The only places this would not be allowed are buffets or family style meal restaurants.

I think that is a great idea! The kids menus are not for all kids-some kids actually seek out.....healthy meals!!! :scared1:

Not only allowed but makes very good sense - lots more variety! There may be a plate charge at the signature places, but my DH & I share meals all the time because we are light eaters and like to pick up some snacks during the day also, and have never been charged :goodvibes

If you are not on the dining plan, treat Disney table service (not buffets or family style) as you would any restaurant in your home town: order just appetizers, share a dessert or have your kids share a meal. It's all good.

When the 2 oldest kids were under 10, I did this many times with no problems. Their favorite entree is fish, salmon or whatever so we are happy to encourage the preference. It's hard to find a fish entree on the kid's menus. Les Chefs has a nice kid's grilled fish entree. The kid's menu pasta dishes are often gross and do not compare to some of the adult pasta entrees. The new chicken nuggets are meh and my kids got tired of kiddie food after 2 days. Luckily my kids are pretty adventurous eaters.

As far as I know, none of the restaurants in the parks or the Disney operated resorts have a plate sharing fee.
