Children go free - when?

I know at the moment because of the special 15 yr celebrations that children go free. But once that is over (when is that - heard it had been extended?), can you please tell me at what age you have to pay for a child at DLP? Is it 4 years and over?

I agree this is a tad confusing ... when using the Disney site to find out prices at their hotels my daughter keeps coming up as "Free Under 7" although she is actually 7.....

Anyone else had this issue ?

It's age 3 and over usually, up to age 11, once they're 12 they're counted as an adult.

The offer the moment is for under 7s to go free but there are some dates (Jan to March I think )when under 12s go free

I am extremely sceptical that this offer is for real. I have been checking the booking site regularly. Before the under 7's free offer was announced, I was pricing and monitoring the price of a particular stay. Then the offer was announced, and the discount evident on the site. However, the overall total price did not change one cent. I called to enquire and they had no explanation even though I had print offs to prove this.

Recently I enquired about a family room at Newport Bay. I was given a price for 2 adults and two kids, but when I added another child (presumably free to stay and play), the cost went up by 700 euros! Again I queried, but was told this was because the room was slightly larger than the average one. A lot to pay considering the child was supposed to be free...again, no rational explanation.

I am starting to think they simply increased the cost of two adults to encompass teh cost of the kids....

It wouldn't surprise me. I don't follow package prices as we stay offsite but I do remember quite a few posters commenting on how much the adult prices had increased for the 15th year.

I might be wrong, but I think I remember reading somewhere that the Newport Bay family rooms are excluded from any offers like free nights etc. Could that be why the price was so high? Could you have a different room and it might work out loads cheaper?

Yes, you are right, the family rooms don't qualify for any discount or offer. However, I didn't have any offer attached to the booking at all. Just plain old classic package.....girl on the phone could not explain it and said herself it was most unusual.

Just to add, that if I took a different room it would be 700 quid cheaper. Thing is, other rooms are restricted to 4 occupants. We will have 5 with the addition of the third 3 year old. I asked on the phone how much different these family rooms are. Girl said they have 2 double beds like the normal rooms, and a set of bunks. 700 quid is a lot to pay for a set of bunks....I could own them for that!!!!
