children free dining age?

We are planning a trip in Sept and would get free dining.

My son will be 2.5 by then, but the age for the childrens dining plan is for 3+
Do you think they would care if I got him the dining plan anyways?

Would it change the price of the room? thanks

I think he eats free if they share from your plate otherwise you pay the children's menu price.

He would eat free at buffets and can eat off of other people's plates for free in other restaurants.

He also gets into the parks free. If you want the dining plan for him you'd have to age him and then get tickets for him as well.

I hadn't thought that I would have to get him park ticket as well.

As stated your DS would need to have a park ticket to get the FD. It most likely would be less money for you to just pay OOP for a kids meal for him. It depends on how many days you are staying and where you plan to eat.

Most kids I know that age don't eat enough to make it impossible to share your own plate with him.

BTW, When you make your ADR's, even though you may not be buying a separate meal for him, you have to include him in your seat count.

We did it last year for our daughter who wasn't 3 yet. We bought 1 day tickets up front for everyone and upgraded the tickets once we got there for the rest of the family. This way we had table service, counter service and snacks for the week. She didn't use much but it sure provided extra food for the rest of the family during the trip.

We still have the unused day which will apply towards upgrading her first real ticket.
