Sorry, I need some clarity on this dress code thing (first cruise ever).

Are children ok in jeans for dinners that are not formal or semi-formal?

Children its what you consider i would avoid jeans on formal night but its not a problem if they want to they might feel just a bit out of it. Girls often wear princess outfits or a nice dress boys a smart shirt and pants.

Just no swimwear or tank tops. Even on Semi-formal or Formal nights, its optional - jeans are okay everyday on a DCL cruise.

• First night is cruise casual—no swimwear or tank tops
• One pirate or other themed night (deck party)
• 3 additional cruise casual nights—no swimwear or tank tops
• One formal and one semi-formal night—two great opportunities to dress-up and take advantage of the onboard photography services. Though optional, we recommend for men: dress pants with a jacket or a suit; for women: a dress or pantsuit.

Most definitely yes. I am wearing jeans to dinner each night as well except for the formal and semi formal meals.

My boys wear shorts and a polo shirt every night to dinner. Never felt out of place.

I'm bringing 2 dress outfits for my boys - slacks, button up shirts and sweater vest on our AK cruise, and they'll likely wear cords and sweaters the other nights (my 4 year old hates the feeling of jeans). Princess dresses for my daughter and a really pretty dress she inherited from a neighbor that she really doesn't have anything else to wear it to other than her winter piano recital. I figure, this is my opportunity to get everyone dressed up and get some nice photos.
