I was just wondering about the the dining plan credits when it comes to children at the signature restaurants. Do they actually take 2 table service credits from children when all they are getting is your basic kids meals that they get anywhere like the average chicken strips, grapes and carrots sticks? I don't get that. How much is a kids meal worth? $6 or $7?

Signature Dining is 2 credits regardless of who is dining.

Many of the Signature Dining restaurants offer better child options, more in keeping with the theme of the restaurants.

Here is a link to the list of DDP restaurants. Click on the restaurant name and it will take you to the DIS Menu.

You always have the option of paying OOP for the kid's meal if you don't feel it is worth 2 TS credits. That's what I sometimes do.

Here's one example of the cost difference:

Whispering Canyon (1TS) - Child Meal (appetizer, entree, dessert, drink) = $7.49

Artist Point (2TS) - Child Meal (appetizer, entree, dessert, drink) = $15.99

Since Artist Point was used as an example, I wanted to add my 2 cents worth. I'm a big fan of Artist Point and the children's meal there is excellent. It's good to have your child eat a healthy meal that isn't fried at least once during your stay. My DD isn't a big eater, but she thoroughly enjoys the chicken, veggies, and mashed potatoes. What a shame she's turning 10 soon. That's when I'd consider OOP.
