I was wondering my daughter turns three next week (April 21st). We will be at Universal right after that (April 25th). Now does she need a childs ticket or not....

Thanks
Wendy

According to Universal's site, children under 3 are free and children ages 3-9 need to have a ticket.

Happy early Birthday to your daughter! :D

I am sure I will be flamed for being dishonest, but I would not buy a ticket for her. But, that is just me. I must be lacking the guilt gene. If she got hurt on a ride, I am sure it would affect your ability to sue them. When did you say her birthday was? May 21? Was she a preemie? You could justify it that way. Just Kidding.

I have large children and went right before a 3rd birthday and no one questioned his age. They really should base this on height, in my opinion. Under 40" should not have to pay for a ticket.

Thank you!! Her Birthday is 4 days before we go. So I am thinking the same thing. (no flames please... lacking gene also) She is only 36" and about 32lbs. Compared to her brother only 12 months older she looks little lol :) He is 40" and 41lbs. She won't be able to go on quite a few rides so...
Thanks for the advice :) :)

I, too have a 3 year old who is very petite (only 37" tall)
and struggle with the dilemma of buying her a ticket
at both WDW and USF/IOW.

We made the difficult decision to go ahead and pay for her,
since she'd probably blurt out "I'm three!" if asked and
just because we felt it was the right thing to do.
(I'm not flaming those who choose the other, though!).

If height was used as the requirement for ticket buying,
I feel it would be much fairer than the age requirement.
Children under 40" really can't do as much
as those who are taller.

(Of course, I'm only 5' 2", so I don't think I hit 40"
until I was around 5 years old!)

It's a hard decision to make ...
Just follow your gut and do what you can live with!
(I know I'd be worried about my daughter busting me,
as well as her older brothers noticing the ticket signs
and asking why their little sister didn't have a ticket.)

Enjoy your trip!

Just my little 2 cents...........

I feel like if they can't ride on most of it, then they should still be free. Just like I think someone's "Granny" should get a discount if she isn't able to ride either........... You know a lot of people go to the park with the family and they can't go on the rides............ I think paying full price for people who can't or don't ride should be altered a little bit!!!!

I'm pretty much a follow the rules kind of person (I do have the guilt gene ::yes:: ), but I'm afraid with this one I would sure be tempted to not buy the ticket. You are risking them asking at the gate, but I don't know how often that actually happens. When my 4yo was 2-3 years old he would tell people that he was 8yo since that's how old he wanted to be (that's how old his brother was...) so who knows what age your daughter would say if asked.

You are so right. My just turned 4 year old tells people he is 2. He looks 5. He is just that kind of kid.
