Okay, so I may have some silly questions, but I'm going to ask them anyway because I know that all of you wonderful DISers will know the answers! :disrocks:

First, we are eating at 'Ohana our first night...but my nephew is 2 years old and therefore he probably won't eat anything that they serve...BUT I know that you can order "kids" food (like chicken fingers, fries, etc.), but will this cost extra? I wasn't sure because he is only 2 and normally that doesn't cost.

Second, when we go to CS places...how does that work? Should we just let him eat off of our plates or can he get kids food for free?

TIA :goodvibes

You can let him share with you. If you order anything specifically for him at a CS you will need to pay for it.

Why wouldn't he eat anything at 'Ohana? When we went in Sept, DS was 13 months and loved it. He ate the turkey, steak, noodles, chicken wings, salad, bread, pretty much everything. But I think you can get alternatives for free. At CS, they eat off your plate or you pay for a kid's meal. Some meals are huge and are good to share.

I agree with PP...I think for a 2 year old with no medical issues you will eat anywhere at WDW with no problems...at breakfasts...waffles, pancakes, eggs, yogurt, bagels....lunch/dinner - at buffets and most TS you can get fruit, rolls, meat, vegetables, anything really tough or 'choking hazard' you can just cut into small pieces.

At any one price buffets - the 2 year old eats for free...at CS or ordering TS meals - anything you order for him you have to pay for. But depending on his appetite - you might want to just share some of the adult stuff and order him a side of something.

Ok! Thank you!

My biggest worry was 'Ohana...he is a very picky eater and I think he would probably only eat the noodles...

I completely agree with the other posters. We took our 10 month old son to Disney & he ate practically everything. I honestly couldn't tell you what he liked the most! He ate some of his "first table foods" there including salmon at Coral Reef. I was worried about him eating there & figured he would only eat some french fries...but he really surprised me & ate the rice, salmon, yogurt, and all. It was a very pleasant surprise! I had shipped myself a bunch of baby foods, 1st spaghetti toddler meals, etc. to our resort & ended up throwing most of them away! I didn't expect him to eat as many "adult foods" there as he did, but he ate all his meals at the same restaurants that we ate at.

I guess what I'm saying is that as mothers, we tend to worry a lot, but it usually ends up working out fine! I wouldn't stress too much, but if your child is a picky eater or has food allergies, I would ask the server. At Disney, they are extremely accomodating for special requests or substitutions! Also, I think the CS just depends on where it is. Some of the places had large enough portions that my husband and I each gave our son a little of both of our meals (1/2 husbands meal + 1/2 my meal = full child's meal...lol). Other places, I ordered him his own meal.

Kids 2 and under can eat with you or off your plate but whatever you order for him you will have to pay, when my son was 2 I never had 2 order him anything he ate with me .WDW has such a variety of food I am sure he will find somethan. If you do order anything from Ohana be prepared for a heafty price for a childs meal!

Yes Mame, if I am wrong please chime in. Here is 2 examples say you go to Coral Reef to eat dinner the 2 yr old can eat off of your plate if you to chose to order a kids pizza or etc. then you would be charge the menu price.

Example 2 if you go to Crystal Palace,1900 Park Fare,Whispering Canyon(Character buffets,Family Style) the 2 yr old is free 2 eat but say you decide that you want 2 order outside of that you will be charged.Trust me I could not imagine that you would need to buy anything for him it will be so much to choose from, now if he has special needs I am not sure how they handle it for that age.

Trust me he wont go hungry, when my son was 2 it was our 1st year going he is 4 now but I was like he is 2 but he like he is 22 LOL. Needless to say he was very satisfied & he loved Ohana,I even shared my snack credits with him,I would tell you 2 bring somethings from home that he likes for my son I kept him his Organic Cereal Bars,Organic milk boxes the ones that dont have 2 be refridgerated, water&Crackers, other than that he will be fine and I did make sure I allowed him his rest time that will make all the difference in the world, enjoy your vacation I cant wait for mine!
