We will be staying in a 3BR Grand Villa at SSR later this year. We will have our 3 year old twins and 1 year old with us, and naturally have some questions regarding childproofing the room.

Primarily, the staircase in the villa. Does anyone know if the hotel has baby gates that can be used for the stairs?

Also wondering if they have bed rails that can be requested from housekeeping.

Otherwise, I'm thinking just bring some plug covers and something to keep the bathroom door closed

Anyone have advice or ideas for things that you have done to make your villa more friendly for our littlest travelers? :dance3:

I have never stayed in any sort of villa with my kids, but I'm curious to see responses. I would be concerned about the baby gates because if you scratched the walls or something - would you be charged?

I'd be concerned that baby gates provided might not be good quality, and the child might be able to push through them and fall down the stairs.

Just because DVC provides something doesn't mean that it's good quality.

When I tried to google this, a lot of results were other threads on this forum with people asking the same question.

It sounds like that particular staircase doesn't lend itself very well to using baby gates.

If you want the extra piece of mind, I might consider ordering an inexpensive free-standing baby gate from Walmart or Amazon and just have it delivered to the resort.

I think I may have to do something like this. The 3 year olds would be okay but I’m definitely concerned about the 1 year old. Unfortunately there aren’t any other resorts with 3BR villas with single level floor plans available when we are going.

I wouldn't do this. I'd do a 2BR and a studio or 2 1BRs or something.

You don't need the bedrails. Just put mattresses on the floor if you are worried about it.
